The Textorcist Demo was ok

I really liked it. It kind of feels like Enter the gungeon mixed with Isaac and Mario Teaches Typing. If you play solo the game can be very challenging but not unfair. You should give it a try, If you like such games and typing.

Fun demo! Neat game!

I just finished this demo, and I have to say it was more fun than I expected. I thought it would be just a typing game, like Typing of the Dead, but there's so much more to it. The demo does not take long, about half an hour, so if you're wondering about the game I highly recommend checking out this demo. The game is a mixture of typing game (a la Typing of the Dead) and 2D bullet hell (a la Enter the Gungeon). You use the arrow keys to dodge protectiles while simultaneously typing words and phrases to do things like attack the enemy, disarm explosives, etc. There is controller support, but I only played with the keyboard, so I can't comment on that. The story doesn't take itself too seriously and is both fun and funny. The characters are over-exaggerated stereotypes, and there's a good mix of pop culture and meta references in the dialog. The game looks great, if you're into these types of 2D games, and sounds great, too! The soundtrack is available on GOG as a separate purchase, apparently. I haven't heard enough of the music to decide if it's worthwhile, though. The game seems well-balanced, as well. I was able to beat the demo the first time through, but it wasn't a walk in the park. It took timing, adapting, and other skills. This is definitely a game you *play*, rather than just a game that takes you along for the ride. Even though I'm giving the game 5 stars, there are some minor issues like typos. You'd think if any game had thorough spell-checking, it'd be a typing game. Also, at least in the demo, I feel like the ration of cut-scene to game play was a bit heavy on the former. I'm usually very patient and enjoy lore and story, but in this demo I found myself just wanting to get to the action. Even with as fun as the story is, I started to skim it just so I could get to gameplay faster. The end result of playing this demo is that, I'm almost certainly going to by the game at some point. Definitely give it a shot!

The Right Kind of Frustrating

The game designers successfully followed the model of arcade classics like Donkey Kong and their ilk: take a couple of ostensibly simple mechanics and combine them in such a way that feels like it should be easy, but is actually quite challenging. Add fun graphics, voice lines, and music and you're left with a winner of a game.

Absolutely unplayable. Locked up my PC

The game crashed the first time as soon as the word START was typed, had to ALT + F4 out of it because it draws focus. Second time I launched it, crashed even before you were able to type START, and absolutely REFUSED to close. Completely locked up my PC. Couldn't ALT + F4 out of it, couldn't bring up task manager because the game brings itself to the foreground. Im sure the full game doesn't have issues like this, but I will not be buying it based on my experience here. There are some major issues to iron out in this demo.

pretty cool

this game, when it comes out, is gonna make you mad very mad but prolly in a good way. typing and dodging bullets is no joke! lmao. i hate the crazy bullet dodging games but this seems fun. i'll prolly buy it if it's not more than....30 bucks or something crazy like that. and why on earth does recommended specs say 4GB of RAM??? the game itself is only 250MB..... (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
