Satisfying
I really enjoyed my time with The Excavation of Hob's Barrow. It's short but sweet, part cozy, part spooky, in short I loved it. If you enjoy point and click adventure games that don't waste your time with overly obtuse moon logic puzzles and pixel hunting then you'll enjoy this game.

Amazing adventure with a sinister plot
I have to say that i quite loved this game. The main character is adorable and the NPCs surrounding her are also remarcable. The viallage where the story take place is somewhere i would love to live in. The puzzle for the most part are very use but the last part, they are very good and a bit on the hard side, just how i love them. Much has been said about the ending for me it worked and i loved it. Thomasina being so lovely makes the dread, desperation and horror so much more alive. I won´t lie when i say that i would love a second game or another taking place in the same universe.

Normally I don't enjoy Point&Click Adv.
I finished my second session and played this game now for about 3 hours. And I enjoy it and grows more and more on me. The puzzles are fair, one need a bit of brain power, but not to much. You have to think, but it never gets frustrating. Also it's very good that there are only to interactions: look/describe and use/do - use can be 'use', can be 'give', can be 'combine' ... that makes it so easy to do things. The Village and the characters are well done, it even has voice acting, and the pixel style is charming. Worth the price and time.

A True Masterpiece
Amazing story, great voice acting; stylish, old school graphics; all of that creates a great, atmospheric adventure game. Heartily recommend it!

The plot alone is worth an indie film.
Had a great time with Hob´s Barrow, it´s clear Cloak and Dagger are becoming master storytellers, the greatest strenght of the game is in the excellent plot and character design. It´s a folk-england-themed slow burn horror it remind me a lot of Shadow of the Comet and the movie "The Moor", which it´s to say much. The pixel art in here is also incredible, this time they treat us with some animated CloseUps you no longer see in games like this. Really marvelous. If there is one thing to criticize, is the puzzles, not the desing per se, just that they feel unbalanced, most of the puzzles are leaned towards the end of the game in a secuencial manner, I wished they were more evenly distributed. Most of them were also pretty easy, at least for my taste. Totally recommended for slow plot lovers and of course adventure gamers.
