SWAT 4: Gold Edition

The game is easily one of my top favorite games of all time. I still have my boxed copies of the game and it's expansion. Seeing it on GoG was a dream come true. I've been wanting to buy it digitally for the longest time. I've only bought a few games from GoG, but they've all pretty much ran perfectly out of the box, and felt like modern tuneups of the older games. SWAT 4 didn't get this same treatment from what I can see. After a bit of INI tweaking I managed to get a proper widescreen resolution and a bunch of other things working, but it's a little disappointing that it seems like this is the same as the old boxed copies just without the DRM. Still it's worth the price as it's a good game, just be sure to do some wiki diving to get it running right.

I woke up this morning, and then I remembered, "What a good game SWAT 4 is, I think I gonna buy it", and then when I opened gog, there it was on main page. Now I gonna play this s.o.b., a game unlike other FPS where you go Rambo and kill everybody, here, strategy is key.

14 year ago this game is still very fun and great tactical Co-op game i ever play, i prefer you guy playing with "Elite Force mod" create by eezstreet it would be perfect!!! and don't forget to checkout "Ready Or Not" by VOID Interactive guy this game is the successor from SWAT 4 and eezstreet he is the one of the Developer of VOID Interactive too guy

I used to play this a lot when I was younger, so I was positively surprised to find out GOG has a version that goes with windows 10. The game is prime realist tactical shooter action, you can't just rush around spraying with automatic fire and succeed. You need to play it safe and smart, think before you act. You also can't just shoot anybody. If you are one of those ADHD kids who need non stop action this game is not for you. Ps. I found out there are really nice mods for this game. I HIGHLY recommend getting SWAT ELITE FORCE and BFHL mods, they go together and make the game look and feel so much better.

It really is a bummer we never got more of this. One of my favorite bits of the game is the briefing and subsequent loadout selection and deployment. Sometimes you get lots of info, even official blueprints. Other times, it's a sketch on a napkin and not much else. Also, squad orders! So much fun. You have red and blue squads (collectively gold) and you can issue orders separately or together, and even have one squad wait to execute until the other squad does its thing. Gotta be slow, gotta be careful. Secure evidence, secure hostages, try to take the bad guys alive. I think it aged fairly well. The graphics are tolerable. It is NOT a fast paced action shooter. You're gonna have a bad time if you try that.
