More Good Than Bad

I started out really not liking the main character of Izzy. She just got on my nerves being an idealistic idiot who criticizes people for things she does herself. There were no dialogue options available that made her more likeable to me. This started to change a little as the game went on and by the last chapter I’d say I had really made her into something I could be happy with. The last few missions of the game was simply fantastic from a story standpoint including some great twists. That is despite me not liking any of the endings very much. I will also say some of the politics of the story seem forced and shoehorned in to make it seem relevant to real world issues without seeming genuine in the game world. Luckily the game play was pretty decent which made me ride out the early issues I had to make it through and see the game mature and grow. There were a lot of goods characters and the game blended humour and drama well. It also had a great cyberpunk type of atmosphere as well as having some good lore built up for the city and it’s history. There is a good amount of variety to the game in terms of mechanics. You have to use drones; bots; hack cameras; all in order to navigate levels and achieve various goals. You also have to know how and when to use pieces of evidence in order to advance conversations and gather more clues. This part was hit and miss as I found some times it felt like the answer was logical and others it felt like trying everything until you found the right combo of items or dialogue regardless of whether it made sense. You also have to figure out navigating vents as well as avoid people or make them go where you need them to in order to access things they were guarding. The game play was pretty intuitive and while simple to figure out there were some decently complex puzzles to solve. One mechanic I didn’t like was the passwords. The first few were straightforward but after that it seemed to become more and more of a chore.

Loved it, but has problems

I really like this game but it has some issues, a few logic leaps, and some bad english/typos in some places. It is a short game, but was actually longer than I thought, and has multiple endings. That said having to redo stuff is going to be slow/slower without a proper save system, though you do get a chapter select which helps with collectibles. A lot of the hacking stuff doesn't *really* make sense either, but that's fine. Some time waiting wasting and stuff, and repeating sequences is *really* annoying if you didn't do something right the first time (and some pictures are small enough that you can easily miss if you have a problems with that sort of thing.) Music drops out sometimes, and some alerts don't clear properly. I can understand why people don't like the ending but I think the [spoilers] in one ending is interesting considering it can be interpreted two ways. Some of the stuff in world doesn't make much sense. The worst bit is probably some of the design; you can loop some annoying sounds on some places accidentally, and some placement of stuff is unknowable until you hit it and get annoying sound effect. There's also a *really* pointless pronoun piece in the game. I kept waiting for it to come into play and it never does, it's literally just a useless data point, which is annoying. All that said I loved the game. Like the art, loved the story for the most part. Music is servicable, and has a few *REALLY* good moments.

Damn, that was actually a great story

The puzzles got really tedious (hated the vents and the note code puzzles got more and more ridiculous as the game went on), but I enjoyed the story, the atmosphere, and the characters. I was rooting for them. The ending was a punch in the gut, but not necessarily in a bad way. Hopefully there are multiple endings, maybe even one that is not so bleak for our main character. I also enjoyed the sci-fi/cyberpunk elements. I thought the future they envisioned was somewhat realistic and interesting. I didn't expect to like this after playing the demo, but I'm happy to say they worked out (most) of the kinks for the final game. It's worth a playthorough.

A good story and idea

I like it. The gameplay is simple: you are an hacker in a overconnected world and you solve investigations... The idea is good, the story is really nice. They find a way to creat many different story (one time a kidnapped victim call you and you have to find her; another is just like a escape game where you guide your friends throught a dangerous situation, some classic investigation. all of this by calling people, hacking drones, phones and camera to collect information. Some choices matter for the case but also the rest of the story. There is a small treasure hunt during every case, solving it give you some lore and cosmetic stuff The main complain will be I wish there will be more: more pictures (from the cameras) and portraits (not using the same for each call) more reaction from the npc, and more dialogue option (in fact really more options on how you speak with people, some helping you, other not so much... and more minigames of hacking. If the dev create a new games with this base (the same quality of story) and upgrading the gameplay and visual I will buy it day one.

Play this game, now.

You don't understand. There isn't another game like this. You'll be on the edge of your seat, leaning close to your monitor, you'll be seriously emotionally invested. The game is FUN. I finished it in two days, and it feels more like I was a part of a seriously fucked up interactive 3 hour AAA Hollywood film where my actions had consequences - not silly video game consequences, REAL consequences. You will love this game. Seriously.
