Roll for initiative, take attacks of opportunity, manage player location and the verticality of the battle field. Set yourself up for the finishing strike and possibly roll a natural 20 at that key moment of battle.In Solasta, you take control of four heroes, each with unique skills that complement one another. Delve into long forgotten dungeons to unearth ancient artifacts, but stay watchful of light and darkness: many dangers hide in the dark, but a light can attract monsters. Some enemies have darkvision, some may flee from your torch... Successful adventurers will learn to use it to their advantage.
Fight monsters in squad-level, turn-based, tactical combat. Solasta's dynamic environment offers some interesting tactical options. Bridges can collapse, leaving enemies stranded and vulnerable. Walls and columns can be pushed over - on top of your foes, if you do it right. The world is your playground. - Prepare to Think in Three Dimensions.
The dungeons in Solasta are more than flat game-boards. Climb, jump, or fly around obstacles. Evade or surprise foes from above or below. Push them into chasms or drop things on their heads. Position yourself on high grounds to start the fight with an advantage.
Size also matters. Escape through narrow passages where bigger enemies won't fit and crawl through tunnels to find secret areas. Take advantage of the environment to find cover suited to your own size. Watch out, though - the monsters are also thinking vertically.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister takes the mantle of the “most” Dungeons & Dragons video game out there, if not quite the best. Though the game has a modular adventure setup that strongly suggests there will be more stories, this one falls too flat for its 40- to 50-hour length. However, the combat system is merely a few tweaks short of perfection, so I’d still be interested in sending my heroes on another adventure in the realm of Solasta.

One more turn...
Been awhile since I have played a game where I say one more turn and then I look up and its 1am. Enjoying the combat, the story, the world, the characters.....off the top of my head I cant think of anything that makes me want to not play it. Its rough in some parts, for me I am use to Xcom camera and this one is good but Xcom is much smoother. But as I type this maybe the slower camera adds to the old school flare.... In summary....I'm just really enjoying the overall package.

D&D 5E!
This game is D&D personified - it isn't as polished in the graphics or dialogue department but it's combat feels much better. Strongly recommended if you are into D&D.

Good D&D adaptation, really bad story
I bought this game because I saw it uses D&D rules. The mechanics are good, the graphics are OK (far from good, though), but the story is a complete crap and after a while the game becomes really boring. The story for me is the most important aspect of a classic RPG and this game lacks it badly. I do not recommend it, except for the most diehard D&D fans.

great game
enjoying the game a lot. really feels like a group of adventurers going together on a quest. Sure, the lack of a huge budget can be noticed, but did not affect the gameplay or atmosphere at all. Really great experience.
