FIGHT THE PAST TO SAVE THE FUTURE. STOP THE SINGULARITY.
Learn the truth behind a massive cover-up of the catastrophic SINGULARITY, an event that fractured time and threatens the world as we know it. Armed with powerful, advanced weaponry and the experimental Time Manipulation Device, fight enemies from the past, the present, and abominations caught somewhere in between.
TIME IS YOUR WEAPON
- Use the TMD – Time Manipulation Device – to change the age of objects and enemies and bend time to your will.
- Age enemies to dust in seconds, manipulate objects outside the laws of gravity, and degrade objects to a withered state or renew them to their pristine form.
- Unlock upgrades to harness the TMD’s full power and expand your full arsenal of advanced weaponry.
EPIC SCI-FI ACTION THRILLER
- Heart-pounding, first person combat action that immerses you in a world where the past and present collide.
- Travel seamlessly between two eras – 1950s Russia and modern day – each rendered with stunning lighting, physics, and effects using the Unreal 3 Engine.
UNRAVEL THE CONSPIRACY
- Traverse the blur between the past and future in order to stop the mysterious SINGULARITY that threatens the world.

I never heard of this game until a few days ago, and I must say.. it deserves some credit and it's a shame that it is essentially forgotten.
Singularity has a great setting (Soviet dystopian theme, mixed with paranormal elements), fun gameplay mechanics such as time and object manipulation - and a great set of weapons and enemies.
The shooting part is really engaging and satisfying, and the story is just interesting enough to keep you
going for the 5-6 hours required to complete the game.
Some cons: level design is very good, but too linear; and the game has no subtitles.
I found this game a couple years ago, bought it and played it, and quite enjoyed it. Having been sick a couple weeks ago, I installed it again and was quite surprised by how much fun I had. This is a solid FPS!
I'm pretty picky about my games. I value gameplay over story any day and don't like things getting in the way of my shooting (cutscenes, RPG/upgrade menus, etc). There are cutscenes and weapon upgrade menus in this game, but they felt mild and tolerable. So I'll give them a pass. Generally, I could sit down and expect to PLAY the game. And I enjoyed every minute of it.
The gun-play is fun. I like the weapons, they have a good punch to them and are fun to use. I wish we could carry more than 2 (I don't understand that trend in FPS games). Movement speed is pretty average, it's not Doom or Quake, but you can get around pretty quickly. The TMD mechanics are fun and fit into the game. I like that you get medkits instead of regenerative health. The puzzles are just the right balance for me between insultingly easy and distracting.
It's a short campaign. But honestly, I like this length in a game. It probably took me around 5-6 hours to complete. I play pretty slow, so your average might be quicker than that. At 5-6 hours I'm not burned out and was left with just enough accomplishment to feel satisfied and just enough wanting to still crave the game. That's a good place to be.
The options menu is a bit bare. You'll have to find the FOV fix online (I used Flawless Widescreen), but it's easy to set up and get going and works with multiple other titles too.
All in all, I don't have any major gripes with this game. I really liked it. I wouldn't say there's anything groundbreaking about it, but that's perfectly fine. Singularity is a great shooter and I didn't uninstall it after finishing--I just might play it again soon!
The game reminds me a little bit of the FEAR series. If you like that series, there's a good chance you'll enjoy this, too.
This is a decent FPS with a strong Bioshock influence and good story line and good atmospheric sound/music.
That said this is clearly a console port as there's zero save ability in the game which is very frustrating when you're a gamer like me who has kids and sometimes needs to stop randomly. It's console roots also shine through when you see how much on rails the entire game is, see an interesting nook you want to explore? Can't do it because the console version put an invisible wall there. You also can't backtrack since every "checkpoint" pretty much closes off the area you just came from. There is also zero fall damage since you're only allowed to climb on top of the parts they want you to, and jump down from places they want you to.
The nice game play and time mechanics are definitely worth a look, but only when this title is discounted.
It's a fun game that is worthy of your time. It might not be the best FPS of its time, but it remixes enough interesting ideas and mechanics to make the eight—or nine-hour playthrough compelling. The story was engaging, with some Bioshock-style audio logs and messages scrawled along the walls, making me question what was happening just enough to keep me pushing to the next story beat. The puzzles added the right amount of variety. Exploring the environments provided little more than upgrade materials and notes that flesh out the background. The upgrades themselves seemed a little superfluous, and at one point, I picked up three of them in one room. It feels like they are there to say there is an upgrade system. The shooting and time manipulation powers allowed for many fun ways to approach combat. It never got boring to age an enemy into a dried-up husk.
I think there is enough here to warrant a sequel. Name it Call of Duty Black Ops Singularity, and it'll probably sell loads.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
