Perma Grind Fest

OMG, the first hours of this game are as boring as it get. You keep playing in the hopes that with that other upgrade things will flow better, but geez, it takes a looooong time - and a quite some luck - to get there! Also, I find the sprites for the Ladies unbearable (Sirs are ok). Why not even a mention that a lot of those ladies are BEARDED? There should be at least a trait for that! It makes it feel that the ladies were a politically correct after thought. Other than that, the game is good, the ideas are nice, and I hope to see Rogue Legacy 2 here in GoG as well.

Definitely worth trying

The game is demanding some effort, but grants great satisfaction. Definitely worth trying.

Light RPG platformer with some grinding

Addicting platformer, nice skill level pacing at the beginning, completionists' dream at the end. A little bit of grinding, but you don't really feel "stuck" at any point. Works great on both Windows and Linux.

Skinner box

It's an ok game, after a while it gets tiresome because it's skinner box style. go to the castle, upgrade, go to the castle again, upgrade again.... After that there's not much to it! the challenge goes up as the upgrades go up.

Mistakes were made

I made the terrible mistake of purchasing this the week before my university finals. Suffice to say, I've done next to no study for exams... This is a Rogue-like game, with a randomly generated castle (which can also be locked down by an upgrade to stop it changing for that play-through). The game is challenging, addictive, has fantastic music and art direction. It rewards the player constantly and consistently with many types of upgrades for your chosen hero - heroes themselves are varied enough that that no two plays are quite the same.
