Pixel Piracy is a side-scrolling 2d, real time strategy/sandbox/simulation game created by indie developer Vitali Kirpu and produced by Alexander Poysky.
In the game, the player leads the life of a pirate captain. Recruit a crew, outfit and customize your ship and set sail on the open seas. There you’ll use any combination of aggression, diversion and trade to become the most infamous pirate crew of the seven seas! You can raid, pillage and plunder everything in your path, divert and lie to get what you want or trade for a quick buck. Remember to be careful though, death is everywhere and quite permanent! Adventure awaits…

Decent start, slow grind to the end
The game seemed interesting at the start, but by the end it was so monotonous, I just wanted to get it over with.

We searched high and low for something to keep us going as we waited for Football Manager 2016. We chanced upon something nearly as addictive. Pixel Piracy is a stupid, simple, infuriating and all-consuming bastard of a game. You’re a pirate. You have a little boat. You sail off, plunder, and then return to spend the money on a couple of members of crew so that you can plunder bigger prizes. But now you need a bigger boat. So you plunder more, get more money and make your boat bigger. But now your pirates have defecated all over your ship and no-one will clean it up. So you spend more money teaching one of them to clean. But now you need to feed them, and so on and so forth. As with all of these things, the real joy comes in quickly editing the names of the pirates. On my game, I had a ship full of football writers. Miguel Delaney had a flintlock pistol. Jonathan Wilson had a cutlass. They were evil, but then Wilson died of scurvy and I was sad. Then I realised I’d be playing for four hours and it was nearly 2am. And I’m 37. Back from the dead
This game back in the days was already really fun and pretty addictive. Never really had any bug. Yes the endgame was a bit repetitive and less interresting, like a lot of sandbox openworld. But in my point of view, i play these kind of game for everything he is from the very start of the playthrough, and not for what he should be at the very end. And now, 7 years after struggles with the former editors, the game is on a new roadmap updates and additions. And this deserves kudos. So, the same way a lot of people say about "cashgrab" and "canceled development" : "please remove those comments", would sound pretty fair.
