Get the carpet cleaner out.
It really looks dated by today's standards in graphics, but the gameplay is still a lot of fun. I prefer Magic Carpet 2, but I remember spending hours on this game on my Pentium Pro 200Mhz PC. The 1990's were really an innovative time in the video game industry with all the evolving hardware tech of that decade. Looking at the screenshots it is hard to believe how short the field of view is. Ouch! The gameplay is the true gem in this title.

I love this game
I've been waiting on this game for a long time. There still isn't a game like it. Part shooter, part gem collector, part Stronghold. I can still remember fighting inside caverns where there is no space to move.

Unfortunately, unplayable
Game runs alright, but the controls; the mouse in inverted, up is down, down is up, and there are NO control options. I never got the chance to play this back in the day, I was really eager to finally experience Magic Carpet; but it's unplayable. Mouse controls are horrendously awkward. The game is outright unplayable. Thank goodness it was on sharp sale. Disappointment.
