Opis
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Digital Special Edition will include the following:
- The game
- Remix EP with 6 unique tracks

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is the brutal conclusion to the Hotline Miami saga, set against a backdrop of escalating violence and retribution over spilled blood in the original game. Follow the paths of several distinct factions – each with their own questionable methods and uncertain motivations – as unforeseen consequences intersect and reality once again slips back into a brilliant haze of neon and bloodshed.

Blistering combat against punishing opposition will require intense focus as new variables, weapons, and methods of execution are introduced throughout the struggle. Let the striking colors of an unmistakable visual style wash over as you meticulously cut down those that would stand between you and the ultimate meaning behind the massacre. This is the finale, this is the unquestionable end.

Set your expectations to low.

Let's not screw around and get to the point. The very reason the first Hotline Miami was so good is due to its simplicity. It's straight forward, put on a mask, go in, kill everyone, go out. This combined with a neon induced art style, beautifully crafted pixel graphics, a soundtrack to die for and a ambiguous storyline is what made it so good. Hotline Miami 2 still has some of these elements. The graphics, the music, the art style, it's all there, what it lacks however, is a story that keeps things interesting while not being to much in your face about it and, of course, the direct approach to gameplay. Hotline Miami 2 goes for a bigger plot and more complex gameplay. These things aren't necessarily bad, but in the context of Hotline Miami and the mentioned reasons for it being so great, it doesn't really work. Instead of like the first game where you had Jacket, the only playable character who had a large selection of masks to choose from (always go for Zack!) Miami 2 changes this to instead have several different characters that have unique abilities. One can perform a roll to dodge bullets, another can dual-wield (and also reload) two SMGs etc. Instead of like the first game, where the masks where mearly modifiers to what you can do, you now have characters with one or maybe two masks that can do a certain thing. It's an interesting concept that can be entertaining but sadly, i needlessly complicates things and leads to the game feeling suprisingly repetative. On top of that, the levels are now much bigger, has more enemies and takes longer to complete. Once again, this may sound good on paper, but in terms of gameplay, it leads to one being killed by enemies off screen, one getting stuck on different props and the change of the time system, which now keeps counting once you're done with level, instead of resetting everytime you die, means that you lose the perfect score attack system of the first game where flexability and time management where key to success. It leads to a game that at times feels like a covershooter (there's a much bigger focus on firearms this time around) Once again, it goes against the very focus of Hotline Miami and leads to a game that feels needlessly complicated, more is indeed less. To sum this up, contrary to what it seems like in this review, i like Hotline Miami 2, i think it's a good game, better then most, but in comparision to the first game, it falls short, then again, the first game is hard to beat. Also this review is a copy pasta of my review on steam, sue me.

Not good as 1, but still lots of fun

Mac OS review First of all, gladly the devs or publisher pushed for a quick upgrade of initial version, which was unstable. Current 2.1 is not crashing. So, ok let's say it - it's not as fresh as Hotline Miami. And maybe the music was also a bit better in part one. But I have to say it's lots of fun. New characters and achievements. There's level editor. For me it's honest strong 4 stars game. Recommended for those who like quick fun, old arcades , pixel art

Good but not nearly HM1's quality

Like the first part it was quite fun although some bugs were really annoying, like invincible enemies standing in door frames, a dogs that glitched through a wall and killed me, etc... but most of the time it advanced rather fluently. The many characters have the upside of more stories and the downside of less options how to play a level in the long run. Some of the new gimmicks were interesting like controlling the twins both at the same time or wielding two uzis akimbo style although in the end many levels were just beatable by using a loud gun to get attention and then finishing many foes on the same spot. Although the story has some nice ideas here and there, I have to say that I think it's inferior to Hotline Miami 1 in every aspect but the music and the level editor. The music is a whole lot better than in the first one and wasn't bad there either. I'm looking forward to some custom levels with the level editor which still doesn't seem to be ready. It's a nice game but staying i the shadow of the first one.

More strategy and very addictive!

Really love the way they changed the gameplay. Part 1 is more fast pasted while part 2 is more strategy and requires lots of patience. You remember demons and dark souls with dying over and over, well this is kind of similar. Sometimes you need to act fast and othertimes you need to use strategie and planning ahead. Loved the first part and i understand why some find it less appealing. But i'm in love with this game and it's especially addictive in hard mode. Let's not forget the amazing soundtrack either. I really don't understand why steam and gog scores/opinions are mostly negative. The second one surpasses the first one in my opinion. But it's probably a matter of taste.

TIME TO FREE YOUR R KEY FROM DUST!

Well...of course I'm not allowed to like this game, because it's a sequel. Right? Let's find out! ART & MUSIC Just fantastic! If you liked Hotline Miami 1, you will love Hotline Miami 2. GAMEPLAY Hotline Miami 2 introduces some new mechanics that impact the gameplay and therefore affect your playing style. This is different from Hotline Miami 1, where you could play stealth or run & gun your way through the level; it really was your choice (and we all loved to beat those mobsters up). Hotline Miami 2 features rather large areas, so you'll find yourself (or beeing forced to...depends on your point of view) using guns more often. If you're not into the gunning part of the series, you'll have to options: give it a try or don't buy this game. I rarely used guns in HM1, but surprisingly, I liked the shooting parts in HM2, which often lead to "How the hell did I survive that" situations, where I franticaly dodged bullets and fired back. Combine that with the art and music style and you're in for your classical 90s action flick! Also you'll go heavy on the Shift Key to gain a better overview of the map ahead, which sometimes slows down the fast paced action. Unforunatly the larger maps allow enemies to shoot you, even if they are out of sight. This is the frustrating part of the heavy use of guns combined with the larger maps. Pros: - Art style - Soundtrack - More shootouts - Larger levels - More storytelling - Frantic action Cons: - More shootouts - Larger levels = bad overview
