It's a Shipper's biggest fear. You're grounded in the exclusion zone, twenty miles of death and decay sealed off by the towering, suffocating walls erected after the collapse.
Alone, stranded, and with limited resources at your disposal you'll have to push your way through the zone, solve environmental puzzles, manage resources and fight for your life as you try to find a way to escape beyond the wall.
Play as Mica, an unlicensed black market shipper who will stop at nothing to find her missing partner.
It’s been 12 days since Sasha left.
You talked about it, you argued about it and you even laughed about it. Anybody in their right mind knew going to that place was a death wish, a one-way trip to the end of the line. But Sasha wasn’t one to scare easily, she wanted answers and there was only one place those answers held any truth. Her mind was already made up, you just didn’t expect her to do it without you.
Twelve sleepless nights later and you finally get the call. Tax has found someone, A border security suit looking to make some extra credits on the down-low. He can get you clearance, a two hour window to fly into the zone, find Sasha and get the hell out of there.
You make your way across the exclusion zone but something’s wrong. The nav's running in circles and you're losing altitude. Before you know it a blinding white fills the sky. The dash goes dark and your hover drops out of the air like a lead balloon, slamming into the paved streets below.
You wake to the acrid smell of an electrical fire, rain pounding on the cracked windshield. You're surrounded by the crumbling remains of what were once considered homes.
You need to find a way out. Call for evac, scale the walls. Something. Anything. Survive.

A good Survival horror
The atmosphere is oppressive, the combat feels a bit stiff and some puzzles are disappointing but the game is very good for a one-person project.

Ok, not great
Decent atmosphere, the controls feel just a little bit like there is a slight delay or something when trying to use them. The tank control setup is almost required due to how frequently there are changing camera angles. The "boss" in the caves is very annoying since it runs just a bit faster than you and can kill you since you are stuck motionless while healing.

Solid survival horror title!
An incredible achievement for a single developer. If you like old school survival horror with fixed camera angles and an immersive atmosphere, this game is for you. It wears its influences on its sleeve, with Silent Hill references left and right. Sound design and music stand out. I like the sci-fi elements and wished they leaned a bit more into it. There's replayability with multiple endings and such. Decent enemy variety, a few good jump scares backed by a pervasive sense of dread. It's not the best or most unique game ever, but it's solid if you like the genre. The surreal aspects were the best parts. Combat is sufficient, with the typical jank of survival horror. Inventory management was balanced well. Acting was good (although sound quality of the voice recording did vary). Story was intruging. Puzzles were fine, mostly just finding key items. The only real complaint I have about the experience is that the right stick only allows you to "nudge" the camera. I understand that for fixed camera segments, but for the segments where the camera is behind your character, I frequently found myself wanting more control other than the button to snap the camera behind the character's back. Other than that, this game was well worth the price of admission, and I look forward to seeing more from this developer. Recommend for survival horror fanatics like myself!

A little, tidy packed "Silent Hill like"
As several other survival horror are Silent Hill or Resident Evil inspired, Hollow Body is no exception. The aesthetics, gameplay, and overall tone are heavly inspired by the foggy town of Silent Hill from the earlier Playstation consoles. Somewhat familar this game is a short indie homage about the great horrors from the past - differing by using a futuristic setting to the story. Is worth mentioning that, as homage indies tend to be, this game is a "concentrated survival horror experience" of about ~5 hours long. If you consume a lot from the genre, this game could feel repetitive but, nonetheless, very enjoyable - keep that in mind that this game is an indie that done its best to give prestige to the classics, and they done it. To me this game is a perfect introduction to people that is not used to the survival horror or, perhaps, don't have a lot time to spare playing games. A little bit of nostalgia, a little bit of freshness in a tidy package - I found it a great addition to my catalog of games.

Does this even count as horror?
Beyond the well-made PS2-inspired graphics, the game doesn't have a lot going for it. I would honestly rate it lower, but I haven't played enough of it (and I REALLY don't plan to), so I'll restrain myself. Hollowbody is supposed to be a horror game inspired by the likes of Silent Hill 2, but sadly it falls considerably short of its forefathers. Pacing is dreadful: I can't believe this game honestly opens with a 20 minutes slow walking sim. This section does absolutely nothing to give us any insight about the situation beyond the few lines of text that precede it. Everyone speaks in vague terms, as if they are deliberately trying to be obtuse. I presume this is the author's way of keeping things secret for some reveals later, but sadly it doesn't work. The game then has a second start (this time a cutscene) and once again the dialogue is vague, the setting is unexplained/unexplored, and things are slow. We learn that we are looking for the person from the previous intro, and bam, we crash into the abandoned zone, and this opens with another slow walking section until we reach a healing item and then we can finally walk around. There is very little to examine, and even less that actually builds the mood or at least gives some back story, no dread detected. Sometimes, you encounter transmissions you can catch with the radio, but those are again vague or far removed from your current predicament and don't shed any light on the mystery. It's also unexplained why conversations from the past can be picked from the radio (the protagonist makes zero comments about it). We then have more empty streets until we reach an empty apartment block with more empty rooms and then eventually, FINALLY you start getting some horror elements. Not well realized elements, mind you, but at least it's something. The music is fine, but too subdued, gameplay is old school Silent Hill in many ways, but there isn't enough here to warrant trying the game for most horror fans, in my opinion.
