You are a Necromancer: a lone sorcerer who seeks to grow ever more powerful and learn new forms of dark magic. You search for challengers to fight, so you can hone your wicked craft. You destroy many monsters and wild creatures, yet none of them seem truly worth the fight...

However, one day, suddenly more creatures entering your world. You know something bad is happening, but maybe this is an opportunity to prove your might and show the world that you are the truly fearsome mage you always knew yourself to be.

Explore many beautiful environments - a country side, a forest, a cemetery, a castle, an ice cave, a volcano, and more - all teeming with danger to prove yourself against, as their denizens try to destroy you.

Get weapons, use magic spells, and learn transformations to fight your enemies, using their own abilities against them and bending nature to your own will.

Use the Tornado Spell to toss your enemies away with wind, or the Ring of Ice to freeze them solid, or even an Unholy Hand Grenade to blow them to smithereens!

Gain transformations as you grow in power - become the Swamp Serpent who can slither into tight spaces while breathing underwater, or the Stone Breaker Golem that smashes walls into tiny bits, the Hell Burner Demon that safely walks on lava, or even a flying Wyvern!

All of them are your key to defeating the many creatures in this metroidvania, as you explore the 21 maps in 3 giant and exciting hubs!

A very good GZDoom game!

Fantastic from start to finish. +Nice art that complements GZDoom well. +Good use of lighting, nothing excessive. There's a solid balance of dark areas interspersed with great effects. +Satisfying weaponry that all have good use cases and creativity. +Very very good level design, lots of little secrets and interconnectivity. +Great music. -Animations can be a bit janky due to the pixelated nature of the enemies. -Attacking enemies from the top or bottom can weird because they are 2D and on a flat plane, so you can barely see them. -------------------------------------------- Tiny blemishes on an otherwise really good game. There's a lot of fun cheesiness to this game too with the cackling of the protagonist whenever he picks up grenades. Makes me laugh. Highly recommended, I feel bad I got it for like a dollar. They need more money for this effort.

The game started strong: The Hand of Necromancy powerup is a nice idea (resurrect your enemies to fight for you), some of the weapons are pretty inventive (the way the magic sword works is great). And changing between forms is really nice as well. I had no problem with the hub system or getting lost. But I'm almost through the second episode and I'm getting quite bored. You see the same enemies over and over. Most are pretty generic (ice man, stone man, wizard, gargoyle) and are not very well drawn or designed. The first boss was a major letdown - there was nothing special about him at all. The level design is okay but most of the levels aren't too memorable and they all mush together after a while. Even the changing between forms begins to just feel like equipping a different weapon/powerup. I think this is one of the cases where having a story (even a simple one) would help a lot in making me interested in continuing. But despite a promising intro, there is basically no story here. So I don't see the reason to continue - the gameplay loop is very standard Doom, and while I love that kind of game I really feel like it needs some interesting monsters, interesting story, interesting gameplay elements, or really good level design to keep my interest. It feels like the developers just started with "let's make a fantasy-themed GZDOOM game" instead of having a vision for some new and innovative game and executing it. It's not a bad game to play if you're desperate for another Doom-like, but just be warned it does get quite old after a while.

Got it for like 5$ or something. I don't remember. Pretty satisfying romp through an vintage-style FPS. Would recommend.

Hexen 3? Nope!

As much as I wish for a Hexen 3 or Heretic 3 - this ain't it. Where the original Heretic & Hexen bleed atmosphere, Hands of Necromancy is lacking. Enemy sprites range from okay'ish to poor. The Necromancer is a poor choice to be the player character - at no time did I feel like one while wielding a sword, firing off fireballs, tornados and ice rings. With Hexen and Heretic readily available here as a collection for $9.99 I'd say buy those instead.

Wciąga...

jak stary Hexen i Heretic. Bardzo dobrze zaprojektowane (zakręcone) i klimatyczne mapy, ale czasami za ciemne, a pochodni za mało. Muzyka bardzo fajna, ale trochę lepsze mogłoby być udźwiękowienie otoczenia.
