F.E.A.R. was a little bit better...
...and the first game was not very good either. This game had less jump scares and was approximately as scary as the first game. In other words: Not particularly scary. Doom 3, the two first Dead Space games, and even the two first Bioshock games were (much) more scary than this. This game just took me about one third of the time to complete compared to the first F.E.A.R. game including Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate! This game had much of the same graphics as the first game(s), but with some improvements, among other things, it natively supported at least up to 4k resolution (the first game(s) could be made to handle 4k with some editing). The first part was mostly too easy on the middle difficulty (Normal), and the second part was a bit unbalanced: OK for the most of the time, and then suddenly unreasonably hard with too many enemies at one time/or a collapsed building where you die if you make one wrong turn/armored enemies that suddenly pops out and so on. Everything is made worse by the inability to save when you want and/or need to save: The game is only saved at set save points! Because of the inability to save, and the lack of horror in this "horror" game, it is tempting to give this game 2/5, but it is not THAT bad, and if you get the game on offer, you at least get a OK/good bang for your bucks in the form of at least an OK FPS with some slight horror elements... I guess that if you liked the first game(s), you will like this game if you accept that it is (much) shorter. But if you did not like the first (game(s), then you might want to skip this game. At least if you do not get it for a low price.
