Fallout

The file structure is a little different then the version in steam for the extras but comparing the two the GOG version has the fallout_refcard and manual pdf files in it. It also has the same extras. It looks like this is the same version found on steam but without the DRM which makes this the better choice in my opinion. My first Fallout game I played was Fallout 3. I got this game a back around 2019 and never really played it because the graphics where dated and the controls where so different. I tried it again after playing Baulder's Gate and really got into this time to the point where the graphics don't bother me anymore. I don't want to spoil anything for would be new players in terms of story but there are some interesting encounters. It's literally a sand box and you can play the way you want your character to be. It's worth giving it a shot. However, do yourself a favor and download the mod to uncensor the game so you can play it as it was intended.

I have this in my library as "Classic". I am guessing that it has been censored in some way as most of the extras are gone and the game play has been censored too it would appear. Great game in its original form uncensored.

Please give us back the original version of the game!

So this game is excellent but this version is censored and missing a lot of the extras the original version had so I'm going to have to rate it one star. You can still pick it but definitely seek out the fan patch that fixes things.

Ah, Fallout. Fallout is a complex game to learn in the beginning, but once you got the hang of it the game sticks with you. It's a game of exploration with no handholding or map marker to guide you. The only instruction you receive in the beginning is "the water chip might be in a nearby vault" and that is pretty much it. A lot of people like Fallout 2 better than Fallout 1, but I seriously have to disagree. Fallout 1 is a very mature game, the fun and jokes of Fallout 2 are there, but not so obvious. The environments stay with you because they make you feel like you are on an important quest. With the exception of Junktown all locations play an important part in the game - you never feel like you are wasting your time. Unlike Fallout 2 the game also ends when you are "done" with it and the 8-10 hours of gameplay (for an experienced player) is just perfect. Fallout is an amazing experience that make you want to play more, or play the game in a different way. A tip for beginners regarding character creation is to set up your guide according to the following (gifted sniper): Traits - fast shot (fire more, but no aimed shots) - gifted (get more SPECIAL points) SPECIAL S: 5 P: 8 E: 4 C: 2 I: 9 A: 10 L: 9 Tag skills - small guns - repair - lockpick And when you are out there... say hello to ZAX from me.
