A dead man’s soul cries out against the force of a ferocious blizzard. He cries for help. He cries for answers. Then he screams as he is torn apart like damp tissue paper. This wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last.
The police are powerless to stop it, so the duty falls to the only ones who can. What force could be so powerful – and so malevolent – that it would destroy the very core of a life in order to get what it wants? Rosa Blackwell and Joey Mallone mean to find out, even if it means risking themselves in the process.

I am so happy this a game like this can exist in this day and age.
The dedication to character and story telling, the amazing voice acting and art, and the memorable puzzles that drive the game. I was hooked from game 1 and I feel so satisfied now that the series has ended. There were so many characters with tragic flaws that I identify with, the game is more than just an extremely entertaining way to pass the time and became something filled with personal meaning.
Pick up this game and the whole Blackwell series if you're a lonely heart lost in the sea of humanity.
I played the whole series with my wife after I got the taste of the first episode. It's not exactly an intuitive game because it forces you to think like you're not in game, while most games are based on attributes or weapons that better fit various tasks or opponents.
With this series, you constantly have to be aware of your capabilities and take advantage of them to achieve something. Just like in real life, distracting people can get you somewhere, and insisting on the same topic will get you valuable information. This is just a little bit about the game's mechanics, which are not unheard of, but the whole story complementing it from the first episode to the last, made it awesome.
The order you play the games in, matters. This is it:
1. The Blackwell Legacy
2. Blackwell Unbound
3. Blackwell Convergence
4. Blackwell Deception
5. Blackwell Epiphany
Get them all, play them in order, and you'll have a great time. It will probably take you a week to finish them if you play about 3-4 hours every day, or maybe it will take you a bit more if you're not used to this kind of games. But it's not worth rushing it. Every episode is fun, and The Blackwell Epiphany was an amazing ending to the series. It was sad, it was great, it was unexpected - unlike many games and movies you get to see and you've pretty much figured out what would happen in the end.
The closing chapter of the Blackwell series stirs your feelings right from Rosa's room, where you got memorabilia from every episode, like a farewell gift to you, that really means something when you've player the previous episodes. The story is longer, more complex, and it surprises you to the very end, both sadly and beautifully. Wow, what an ending...
Hats off for the writing! We loved it. :)
And rarely do I use that phrase. I entered into this series on a whim, looking into the adventure genre I had only dabbled in. I heard good things about it, but was unsure. So I watched a Let's Play of the first game... then the second... then the third... the fourth. I couldn't stop; it was like a brilliant new book before bedtime, and you just keep wanting to squeeze in one more chapter or page before light's out.
I stopped myself. I enjoyed this journey so much that I bought the finale, The Blackwell Epiphany, so that I could experience the joy of controlling this magnificent journey's finale. I don't regret it one bit.
It has been a long, long time since I've been so engrossed in a story and so invested in its characters -- so many overused cliches avoided, so many turns I incorrectly guessed, all carried on the shoulders of quirky, lovable, relatable characters. The writing is the crown champion of all the things this series got right, and I'm so glad that I gave it a shot and then took the reins for myself.
I cannot recommend this series more. I don't hand out 5 stars like candy, they MEAN something. If you aren't sure, perhaps do like I did and watch somebody play the first episode but, trust me, stop there. You'll know whether or not this series is something you'll be interested in, and you'll get the joy of being the one in the driver's seat for most of it -- something I know look back and wish I had done, because this series has been so charmingly enjoyable to experience. If you like adventure games at all, you will enjoy this.
I could stop there, but I have 400 characters left, and Blackwell deserves every one. I bought the rest of the series, despite knowing (most of) what happens in them. I spent my money on a book I'd already read. I hope that's taken as a sign of just how worthy of a read it was, and how happy I will be to revisit this series periodically down the road, like that favorite book, that you want to experience again.
