The Sad and Brilliant Blackwell Finale

Yes, Wadjet Eye Games, did manage to end its Blackwell series in the most impressive way imaginable. With a perfect finale and a gorgeous final episode (that can easily be enjoyed by newcomers to the series). The writing is excellent, the stakes higher than ever, everything gets wrapped up satisfyingly and, sadly, this excellent adventure series is now over. An absolute must-play and the best Blackwell game to date.

This series is actually AMAZING. I think it is one of the best adventure games in years! It's well written, it's emotional, it's interesting, with nice twists and although it's not hard to finish, the investigation puzzles are nice. Do not play the last episode if you have not played the others. First, you wouldn't understand the game, second you'd miss most of its beauty. Also, in my opinion, this is not the best episode of the series. What I specifically did not like is the part coming right before the final scene. It seemed a bit, how to say, rushed (SMALL SPOILER: I refer to the rooftop scene). This said, grab them all and play them. It is a wonderful experience

A great ending to a great series

Really, the review title says it all. When I bought the first four games in a bundle, I had no idea what I was in for. The games were a thrill ride of horror, drama and fun, and the Blackwell Epiphany is no different. Dave Gilbert has really outdone himself with this last entry in the series. I'm not gonna spoil anything but this: at the end, you will be bawling your eyes out. It is said to see this great series come to an end, but at least it goes out with a bang.

The epic culmination of a great series

I started playing Blackwell Epiphany at 7:00 PM. By 00:00 AM I realized I was going to finish it in one go. By 01:30 I was on the edge of my seat, mouth literally (I mean literally) open, and not even caring I had to work the next morning. How many points should a game review cover? Is that something professional reviewers do? Take notes? I suppose it depends on the game. But I couldn't be bothered with putting down my mouse. Let me tell you. Blackwell Epiphany must be one of the better written narratives in the last decade. If you liked the saga, this title will provide the climax ending you craved when Deception ended. At first I didn't like how the game puzzles were constructed. It seems like a trivial matter, but it takes effort and know-how to guide the player through a graphic adventure game. I feel that's a lost art these days, and Blackwell Epiphany takes some time to get used to. At least it did for me. I was tempted to look at a walkthrough once or twice, but the game is well balanced in terms of difficulty. It will squeeze your brain just right. Once you have spent a couple of hours on it, you will just flow through it. And there's when the story comes in. [...] Apparently I wrote too long a review. Perpetually intriguing tale

Perpetually intriguing tale with an over the top finale. Blackwell Epiphany's writing and dialogue is charming, game play lengthier and both the sound and backgrounds in this game are extremely polished; The creators destined this game to be the exclusionary end to the Blackwell series and the effort shows. A game that felt made for the fans, Blackwell Epiphany holds plenty of in game fluff texts and easter eggs referring to it's predecessors. It's best to get the bundle before delving straight into the fifth but Epiphany holds a lot of plot on its own. *Personal opinion* - The game had some really unexpected events and ideas which took away some of the enjoyment. Still a fun despite some of its flaws.
