Dracula: The Resurrection
Based on the characters from Bram Stoker's suspenseful novel, Dracula: The Resurrection takes you forward seven years from Jonathan Harker's faithful rescue of his fiancée Mina from the fangs of Dracula. Now married and comfortably living in London, Jonathan thinks his nightmare is behind him until he comes home to find a letter from his wife, who was bitten by Dracula several years ago on the night of his death. Unable to ignore her call for blood, she is returning to Transylvania. Jonathan's search for his wife - and his life - will take you through an Inn, Caverns, a Rail System and Dracula's Castle on his desperate passage to bring Mina back to London.
Dracula: The Last Sanctuary
As Jonathan Harker, you know that your wife, Mina, trapped under the Vampire's spell, will never be safe as long as Dracula is still alive. You must hunt down Dracula in an attempt to vanquish him forever. Follow a lethal trail in a chase from London back to Transylvania: from an insane asylum to Dracula's castle, and through an underground prison littered with the bones of forgotten men, arriving finally at Dracula's Last Sanctuary.

Dracula 1 is a fine, relatively short playthrough with a great, gothic atmosphere. That said, it's absolutely loaded with adventure game idiosyncracies from the era it was made that make it incredibly frustrating in a time where adventure games have had decades' worth of quality-of-life improvements. Be prepared to pixel-hunt for the sweet spot on the screen that allows you to actually progress!
For the life of me I can't get 2 and 3 to start, even with fixes listed in the forums here.
I got this on sale for 69p and that feels about right for what I actually got from it.
(This little review is about Dracula 3, it's the one that sounded most interesting to me because apparently it's not connected to the other 2,and I've only played 30 minutes so keep that in mind)
THIS GAME IS GORGEOUS
I mean crikey this game is REALLY pretty, it's not often that i'm so impressed by graphics but something about this game is captivating, just what's needed for a game about vampires.
However this game has an annoying glitch where your mouse cursor disappears which is obviously not ideal for a point and click game, to solve this you must right click on your vampire 3 shortcut, go to properites and make sure the game runs in maximised window, that will solve your problem, it's a great game upto now so i'm giving it 5 (let's hope it stays great all the way through)
A very enjouable point and click adventure. The cinematic cutscenes are a joy to behold. The overall atmosphere is dark but not too scary for its own good. The puzzles are clever but reasonable and the leading character is a victorian era Mcgyver.
Perfect!!
There are two different souls in this collection: there's the Dracula: resurrection diptych and there's Path of the Dragon. These souls are distant both in time and philosophy.
Dracula:Resurrection and The Last Sanctuary still belong to the pixelhunt era, and you'll be stuck more than once just because when you scanned the room you missed a single spot that was barely visible. Apart from that, if you can get past the (honestly atrocious) cutscenes, you'll find two good adventure games.
But to me the real standout is path of the dragon. It is without a doubt the smartest (and thus hardest) adventure game that came out in the past few years. Instead of somewhat following the Bram Stoker book, this game gives it a twist of supernatural (similar to gabriel knight games) and puts you on the path to becoming a vampire. Once again the puzzles are very reasonable. On the other hand, it is a HARD game. you can stumble pretty easily for a while, going from place to place, but unless you actually decide to read and examine every single document carefully and THINK you will end up being stuck in the last hour. In this regard it's very similar to Riven (in the Myst series, other fabulous game): unless you're able to completely immerse yourself in the adventure and the character you'll need a walkthrough to get out of it alive. If you have the time and will to go through it though it's a wonderful experience.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
