6 years in the making
DRM free on GOG, no hassle install on Manjaro Linux, runs perfect on my widescreen display. I'll play the final version on my steam deck. It reminds me of the times when I played classics like Space Quest 3 or the first Fallout. I'm old now feeling young. Thanks to the devs.

It's fun!
Death Trash is an action RPG, being inspired by the early Fallout titles. Story-driven open world game with real time combat.. Played a few minutes (hours) this afternoon into the early access version, here my current experience: Death Trash is easy to pick up and learn. Movement of my character is fluid, combats are fun, challenging and fair and after I got into the first town I get more and more quests, which shows me, that there will me much to explore. Already made a few dialogue choices, I would like to change afterwards *lol*, however I will start happily again from scratch after the full version will be available. The game is polished, playing with keyboard and mouse feels intuitive, the writing is great and promising. Using a headset I can hear a rich sound design and I'm always in for pixelated art style. Definitely a recommendation for action RPG fans!

Promising but not perfect
So I just finished every quests of the game today and the game is still in development as I write this review. + The universe is a unique post apocalyptic world that I never saw anywhere else + The statistics and skill system that is very simple, almost minimalistic + The possibility to respec your skills and stats for cheap and avoid being stuck in a single playstyle + Didn't try it but there seems to be a local Co-op + Combat system that is fairly simple but got me just interested enough with different abilities and the use of stealth + Some weapons that made me smile and got me excited when i first got them (i.e the claws and the flamethrower) + Some good ideas to avoid wasting time back tracking (speeding the map movement, being able to click on the local map to let the character get where we want, pillars thattransports you to different parts of a city once activated,...) + Simple and interesting crafting that doesnt require skill points, that's clearly personnal but if i have to put points in crafting rather than melee, hacking or lockpicking in a game... chances are good I'll never craft a single item throughout the entire game. Here it's simple, disassemble stuff and keep parts, find recipe, craft what you need, enjoy. + I know I started with it but really the universe and, by extenssion, the graphics of this game are a mindfuck and a joy. - NOT FALLOUT! everything is much more simple and hence combat, dialogues and skills really offer less freedom. Skills such as mechanics only serve to open machines to loot their parts. - Dialogues feel like every choice will lead to the same conclusion, and people usually don't have much to say outside of the main quest - Inventory management you have recycle a lot to get some place and no personnal storage to keep some armors/helmets In short, a simple & incredible post apo game that is not yet finished. If you are looking for tactics or an heir to fallout 1 & 2 maybe try playing Underrail instead. Otherwise have fun!

A very promising game
Since trying the demo, I knew this is going to be good. Reminded me of classic Fallout games in atmosphere and writing, and the real-time combat is fun. I will wait until it's finished to do a full playthrough, but it is worth the support right away.

Already amazing in pre-release
This is a love song to old school RPGs, written by a single developer. The among of polish for an early access game is amazing. I highly recommend supporting this game's development by buying it in early access.
