ARPG Gem

This little gem easily outclasses recent AAA entries in the ARPG genre. The class system is simple but engaging (Protip: choose to create a custom class instead of taking one of the premade options). Shapeshifting into the different animals is really fun and adds great interactions to co-op. Unfortunately the systems are not deep enough to make this a forever game like Diablo 2 or Grim Dawn. And the story is rather short. But you do get a lot of game for such a low price point. The only real issue I have is with the UI surrounding the animals. Animals you can shapeshift into are items you need to equip, and you can have only one equipped at a time. So if you want to switch from your raptor to the crocodile (and you really have to switch at different points in the game due to difference in movement capabilities) you have to do it through the inventory. In conclusion I'm happy to give this game 5 stars wholeheartedly.

Excellent co-op game

My nieces (12 years old) simply love it! They like dragons, dinosaurs etc. creatures and this game is excellent with the shape-shifting ability. Also, one can choose between 4 siblings (two women and two men characters). They are many pickups, shops, a central city hub, where you can get new quest, caves, forrests, mines etc. Looks and sounds good. The music is of different kinds, depends on the settings and situations. It seems, that it dinamically changes. They play on a mini PC with mobile AMD Ryzen 5 6600H series (integrated Radeon 660M), 32 GB RAM DDR5, 512 GB SSD on 1080p resolution, turned on V-Sync and medium textures quality. Windows 11 Home 24H2, build 26100.2894. The girls are using an Xbox 360 generic clone and an Xbox One compatible gamepad. No problems, no crashes so far. They are at creature level 28 for one scaptor and level 29 for a houndra.

Fun Co-op game!

Playing with the Serenity1666 reviewer down there. I'm the mount, she's the rider. Its fun running around and falling off cliffs and getting my ear pulled in the process. Getting zerged at times is fun. Game is good with an xbox controller. Give it a try, these developers care and are active on their discord.

Fun local 4-player coop game

Decent local coop RPG games where the 'coop' part isn't just a quick aftethought are a rare commodity these days. But I think Coridden hits the right buttons. The game is easy enough for the uninitatied to jump right into, yet complex enough that I won't label it a one-off arcade game either. Don't expect Witcher level lore or dialogue interaction, but Coridden is toned down just enough just so it won't be too overbearing when you got 2-4 players trying to play the same game on one screen. The interface and mechanics are intuitive and well thought out enough that it doesn't feel like players are stepping on each others toes during combat or even just mundane things like accessing store/storage and inventory/stat management. There is enough variety and flavour in the skill and ability tree to keep combat and level progression interesting, and players have room to develop their own combat play style. Some things I like about the game: The game has Loot drops seem to be based on who makes the kills, and the game puts a ownership timer on said loot. There is no item transfer system per say, but players can trade items easily enough by dropping from inventory. The chasms and cliffs on the maps aren't just for show. You can totally push non-flying enemies over the edge to their deaths with your attacks, and at the same time you can fall in them yourself. Players have a good degree of freedom of movement. On some maps you have to do a lot of long distance jumping over chasms or obstacles, and part of the fun is you and fellow players attempting to parkour to a seemingly inaccessible spot to see of there's loot to be had. Mistakes are bound to be made, and the game's convenient teleport-to-player and respawn system encourages you to do these stunts/antics rather than punish you for them. As for controls, game seems to work well with the two Xbox controllers (an old 360 and a PowerA controller) I have connected. IMO Coridden well is worth the price of admission.

Fun but monor issues

I have put about 6 hours into this game at this writting, so I havent gotten too far as of yet. The story isn't bad and the music is OK, and the game is fun, however the controls are a bit of a pain for an ARPG. Just trring to jump over a short distance can leave you wishiing the distance was shorter. Needing to hold down 3 buttons with your left hand and hitting the space bar at the right moment can cause a lot of reoeat trys just to clear a short distance. The good: The music fits the mood for the area you're in. Combat is intuitive and fun. The story they are telling could be better, but is good. I like the graphics, they look good. Riding a mount is OK but needs work. Shapeshifting is fun and can be devistating. All keys can be remapped. The Bad: There is a high learning curve for all of the controls (and there are a lot). The native controls for the game are all left hand for movement (WASD, left SHIFT, left CTRL) this can be bad for those of us with large hands or disabilatys. The Ugly: I tryed remapping some of the keys to my multiy button mouse and the game didn't like it at all. The game actually forced me to double tap those mouse buttons. This may be a system issue but byer beware.
