Brütal Legend is an action-adventure that marries visceral action combat with open-world freedom. So i was pretty dissapointed of this game.. i knew its a bit old but i wasnt expecting the bad combat and movement..
1. one star for the awesome music!
2. second star for the cute humor and dialogue!
3. maybe a third star for the decent stylized graphics..
4. no star for the clunky combat and movement.
5. no star for the in-my-face screens of help and the cutting cute-scenes and the weird camera snapping whenever the game wants to the upper side of screen and other minor design and technical annoyances that pile up into a not-for-pc-game.
If you love listening to some good old rock and metal music this is a no brainer. Driving around just enjoying the music and even during the missions are spot on.
The story is funny with how the characters are interacting with the superb writing.
Combat in the game works ok.
The two things I can complain about is the driving which can be annyoing during some missions.
The other thing is the side missions are very repetetive as most of them are the same stuff which many you have to do if you really want to upgrade and get all the things.
Brutal Legend is awesome but one star because if you have only keboard and mouse the game is unplayable and unbearable (it's impossible to drive a car!!!).

It crashed 2 times on me. In both times I restarted and continued where I left off. I reduced draw distance a little and it never crashed again.
Its looks much better on pc than on ps3.
Gameplay story and especially soundtrack is very good. Its very underrated game. Double fine did a great job.
Only downside is ending. It feels rushed. But It's still a great title to pick up and play.
So here it is, a game seemingly perfectly engineered for middle-aged metalheads such as myself, a dude weaned on Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Megadeth. Brutal Legend admittedly nails it with its world and story and soundtrack. But it falls so short in actual gameplay. At first, it's a brawler -- you know, lots of button-mashing combos. Then it's an open world thing where you're driving around doing stuff. THEN -- it turns into this bad RTS, kind of like what Sacrifice (available here on GOG...) did, except Sacrifice did that weird FPS/RTS thing right. And then Brutal Legend kind of...just ends. So you end up with this mishmash of game elements, none of them that great. Very disappointing.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
