5 stars to the Classic version!! Not EE

Do yourself a favor and in library > More > Serial and download de Classic Version. Everything with EE seems off, it's slower, graphics are worst not better, the menus, animation, sounds all were redisgned to fuck you up! I recently compared, even the sounds and performance seem much better in the Classic version. There's even an option in the Classic to customize graphics in the game's folder. Right-click executable > Open directory's location you find it! 1. Basic > Difficulty > Core Rules 2. Basic > Hardware > set all to up for CPU, Graphics and Sound 2. in the bottom activate 3D and set resolution to 1024x768 it will look much better and cleaner. If you set higher than the IU will look extremely bigger but not with the resolution I mentioned above. In the original you cannot create a party that makes the game looks like it should be. In options inside the game set: 1. Gameplay > Auto-Pause >Pause when the character's die 2. Graphics > Contrast set +1 3. Gameplay > activate Show dice-rolls, Gore, Group Infravision and if you want "rest until healed"

Improves on gameplay, is glitchy

This does add a lot of content, and the AI is often better. However, it does get glitchy, like spell book updates don't stick, AI turns off on its own, music and sounds sometimes disappear. Still fun with new content, it's just the original CD-ROM version with the occasional patch didn't feel this glitchy.

Love baldurs gate 1 and 2 but i cant stand the changes made, and with how beamdog treats its fans I'm glad someone up top had the brains to realize beamdog are idiots and promptly handed the license to larian studios Someone who will do right by the series and not shoehorn in bullshit for their agendas and fuck their fans over.

Memorable, but mixed feelings

Like BG1, Enhanced actually enhances the game without introducing game-breaking bugs (as the EE for NWN has a habit of doing every few updates). It's a quality game, although in some aspects clearly inferior to its predecessor. Tons of quests make sure you always have something to do - but tons of quests stacking on top of each other and often interfering with other quests, you're already struggling to complete also mean you never have a break. In BG1, there was time to digest what you were experiencing. In BG2, you're constantly pulled towards something and often in different directions at the same time. It would have been nice if the developers had done something to reduce what feels like quest-spamming. Well, maybe not quests alone, but your teammates also have a lot to say and something what happens in relation to them further complicates things. Pathfinding... I forgot to mention this in my BG1 review, but it's also a problem with the EE there. Occasionally players will move into the same spot and be stuck for a while. Very annoying and boring having to reload or wait until they break free. At least they're not permanently stuck (memories of NWN arriving...). The game is not quite stable and crashes a bit too often for my taste. There's also the graphic problem, where I need to use a complicated trick to have the game shown on my regular monitor instead of the small screen on the laptop. In spite of the problems, it's a game with immense quality, which I highly recommend for fantasty/RPG fans.

Epic old school RPG

With over 1,000 hours in BG2/BG2EE, the Baldur's Gate CRPGs are the standard that all games try to emulate. The story, combat, and villian are all amazing. Mods breathe fresh life into the game if, like me, you have beat the saga dozens of times.
