Fun with one problem
Enjoyed this game. Nice level design, minimalistic but good story. Played it on normal difficulty and have to say, that it is well balanced. Have to remove one start, because of the last world. My brain wasn't a fan of the constant change of angle and the color scheme, so that I couldn't enjoy the last level. In overall good game.

A fast pace modern shooter
If you have played Hexen, Quake or Heretic in the past then this is a must buy. It has great new graphics and amazing sound and level design. The only downside here is that there is no linux or mac version.

I expected a modern Heretic...
... and was a bit disappointed that AMID EVIL just wasn't that. In hindsight, that's good, because it is its own thing! And what it is is fluid movement, satisfying, varied and crazy weapons with just the right feedback, amazingly atmospheric, colorful and sprawling levels - set in different realms, sporting their own theme! It's great is what it is. Buy it.

If you like Heretic, you'll love this
The most refined character movement in an FPS game. It's like Quake movement on steroids. The player is in control at all times and doesn't need to rely on gimmicks like Doom Eternal's janky yellow pipes. The art design is beautiful and the levels are incredibly complex and sprawling. One of the best FPS games of all time. If id Software still had any sense (or talent), their name would be on this game... or if Raven wasn't sentenced to 40 years hard labor in Activision's Call of Duty gulag. What a shame.

My favorite retro FPS game so far
Graven is by far the best new old FPS game I have encountered in a while. I grew up with all the classics like Doom, Qukae, Hexen, RoTT, Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and so on and I'm addicted to these games until today. Trying new ports, remakes, mods and stuff. Most of the new oldschool style FPS games like Dusk, Amid Evil or Wrath couldn't get me really hooked. Graven did. It has this great retro feeling looking like a polished mix of Hexen, Undying and Quake and yet has it's very own character. What is unique here is the amazing level design. Placed in a medieval town and having to complete tasks to unlock areas is so satisfying and adictive. The gameplay is fast and rewarding. I love it. The early access version is quite good. The most issues I have encountered are the AI which get stuck sometimes, glitch or spawn strangely. Hope to get the final version soon.
