Update on System Shock 2 (1999) and the GOG Preservation Program

As you may have heard, there are some upcoming changes to how System Shock® 2 (1999) is offered on GOG.The classic version will no longer be available as a separate purchase starting tomorrow, October 10th, 2 PM UTC. Instead, it will be automatically included with System Shock® 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster.If you already own the Remaster, but not System Shock 2 (1999), you’ll soon see the title added to your library automatically – no action required.We also want to emphasize that the original 1999 release remains part of the GOG Preservation Program. That means our team will continue to maintain and update it to ensure it runs smoothly on modern systems for generations to come.Even though System Shock® 2 (1999) will no longer be sold separately, it continues to hold its place as an important part of gaming history, one we’re committed to keeping alive and playable.
