Very well done for an indie title
Like the game description states, you can feel in the game the inspiration from Homeworld and C&C. Resource gathering and management is simplified to allow you to focus on what matters. . . FLEET BATTLES! The ship renderings were well thought out and I liked the unique designs. I do question how some of the ship frames are categorized, or would have used different descriptions for them, but that's more of an aesthetics thing. I do like how certain frames have innate abilities that sets them apart from others, but wished for more granular configurations for carriers. There are plenty of weapons and modules to collect and use, ensuring enough variety to suit different playstyles. There is a definite learning curve for new RTS players to get into the game, but should be a no brainer for Homeworld veterans. The fairly large 3D environ allow for greater flexibility in tactics, and the placement of resources encourage more reliance on static defenses. . . which are actually well balanced against mobile forces. The only big gripe I have is with the AI settings. It feels like the difficulty setting, in addition to hardening their units, also affects how much resource they receive over time, as the AI has no visible method of gathering resources (can't resource starve the AI). So that limits your strategic options for winning in skirmish mode. At the end of the day, this game scratches an itch that very few others can do, much less do well. If you like sending a space fleet into battle and watch beautiful fireworks ensue, this will fill that craving very easily. ;TLDR; Graphics - Great! Sound - Great! Controls - Learning curve, but works great once you learn it Gameplay - AI is a bit weak, but does the job Storyline - Minimal, WIP? Mod support - Yes! Overall - Definitely worth supporting, and would like to see how this title continues to evolve
