Fun and unique hidden gem
I have around 5h in this game and still not quite understand it, but from what I've seen its very good. The artstyle, even if simple, is charming and its soundtrack reminds me kinda of new Zelda games or maybe bit Valheim? And about game itself, it actually plays a lot like more classic action RPGs than roguelike, because you won't lose THAT often in this game. My last run (second or third) was around 3,5h and I discovered a lot, but it was still MAX 1/5 of what game has to offer. So possibly it's quite long game too, especially considering how much upgrades there are possible in town and that I tried only one of few available journeys. You can also transfer your money to bank, unlock shortcuts for next runs and upgrade your town, so losing will be even less punishing. Game is mostly exploration mixed with action fights, which are interesting thanks to wide variety of weapons, when most of them aren't really "better" than other, they just handles different. Some are ranged based, while other are mainly for close combat and all of them are upgradable through fighting. Basically all of armor/weapon pieces are possible to upgrade thanks to exp gained from combat. Only accessories are static and there are lots of them, for example some are pet companions, while other upgrade your stats or even gives special effects to your attacks. About exploration part - it's well done too. Game world is big and vibrant with few different biomes, full of small secrets, bases with NPCs, dungeons etc etc. It will take a long time to explore everything and about some things I wished would be more developed are puzzles and platforming elements. I wish they were more often, so game would be more diverse. Another problem is sometimes techincal state, your character can get stuck in many places (it's easy to unstuck fortunately) and physics in combat is sometimes floaty. But even without this, game is addictive and will allow you to get lost in this great and colorful world.
