Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

It has always been and always will be insanely fun.

pros and cons pros: - plenty of servers to choose - 3 Game Modes [Campaign, Objective, Vote, SW] - it's based on the WW2 so therefore u can choose either Allies or Axis or Spectator - great gameplay - low specs - there are random servers with people - flamethrower/panzerfaust is OP - cool maps - you can pick 5 classes [Soldier, Medic, Engineer, Field Ops, Covert Ops] - you can choose up to 6 Different Weapons - its still playble today Cons: - there are random servers with bots

Too bad I missed the dedicated GOG servers; this could have been a really fun place to play. Anyway, I remember spending months playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and even though I was always at the bottom of the list of the best players, I had a lot of fun. Nowadays, I'm not sure if the game could be as much fun as it used to be. Most of the servers with the original maps and settings are filled with nothing but bots. The ones that have active players are heavily modded, and I always avoided those. The best servers were always vanilla with XP save, but I doubt it’s possible to find a server like that now. If I had any friends, I would definitely try to recreate the fun from the old days. No other multiplayer shooter was ever as engaging for me, and I’ve played quite a few of them. But still, it's so cool that these kinds of games are still playable.

We used to play this game at LAN parties for over a decade. It's one of those games that does not become old. Even though the graphic might be a little outdated, the game play is simply perfect and a huge community created hundreds of marvellous maps to provide an almost infinite gaming experience. The game revolves around conflict between axies and allies and both have 5 different types of units: - Soldier, which can use heave weapons - Medic, to revive and heal team mates - Engineer, to plan mines, dynamites and complete specific objectives - Snipers, to kill from distance, cover advances and impersonate enemy units - Artillery guy, to spawn ammo, call artillery strikes etc Amazing game, really one of the best ever played!

I have played this on and off for ages so it's great to see this here. The first online FPS I ever played and in my opinion it's one of the best.
