Nice game, not so great soundtrack...
The game is nicely designed with each game taking a bit under an hour (playing vs 4 AI that do take some time each but provide a good challenge for someone decent but not great at this kind of thing). This will be my go-to shorter game for a while I think. I don't think it is all that educational beyond seeing a picture of different birds as the trivia is minimal. I wish there was a way to show the range of the bird in game (you can see it on the birds page). The birds seem to all be from North America or Europe unfortunately. I regret getting the soundtrack as it is rather bland and after playing a few times I am fairly certain I will never want to play it on its own. It does at least have a lossless version unlike some that are mp3 only that is nice for anyone who does like it. There are five different sound sliders in addition to the music so it is easy to pick the sounds you want that go with whatever other music you listen to playing the game. Note that if you have a gamepad attached to your system it will just show gamepad buttons rather than keys even if you don't use it. If you don't have one attached it will tell you to click for everything rather than the faster keys, however you can see the keys (but not change them) by clicking the keyboard icon in the upper right of the settings page. The other less than ideal thing is that the developer provides some time-limited backgrounds that are gone in the next update rather than increasing the available backgrounds. There are five at this point that seem to be always there which isn't all that many considering you do spend some time looking at them while waiting on the AI. In addition to the regular game AI there is Automa which (I had to look up since the game didn't explain it at all) is the single player mode from the board game that has some impact on the shared resources like other players would but follows different rules, is very quick, and is not affected or considered by regular bird powers.
