I'm sure this game was a gem of its time, but nowadays the systems used are incredibly mismatched. Isometric gameplay combined with a 3rd person perspective, little information as to the effects of stats, horrible path-finding and the way many of the game's mechanics are implemented in order to punish the player for minor errors (usually caused by lack of information on the game's part) combine to make a painful experience drag on far more than it needs to.

I wanted to like this game, charmed by the setting and by the good graphics and music, so I played it until the end. Sadly, after having finished the game, I can't say that I would really recommend it. The plot is very thin, basically a simple travel story in search for a true love, which is divided between two distinct settings. I could have born it if the combat were fun, but I found it to be really one of the worst combat systems I've experienced. Wooden and frustrating because of a terrible combat and pathfinding A.I.., plus an unusable magic system. Maybe it could have worked better if the game were turn-based, but in real-time it was just a tiring job. Add some long dungeons, empty environments, sub-par voice acting, and that's pretty much about it. Sorry, I didn't like it.

Tried many settings and tricks to get it running. Only works if I run it windowed. Sad.
