Immersion and Atmosphere are awesome
Every fan of the Cthulhu universe would be glad to play the game. Even if the graphics may considered a bit obsolete, it is still a great piece of art.

Much better.
I own the original and to my surprise This one appeared on my account.. RESPECT! I see this as the updated version and the one to play if you're planning on commencing a new game. In my case, I had to start all over because I was on a particular part in the old one (not that far) and this remaster doesn't work with original saves. But in the end it was all worth it, Let me elaborate. Combat was balanced a lot, thank goodness because its this game's weakest point in my humble opinion. Enemies are no longer a mechanical frustration, they are challenging but not to a fault; balance. Gun play its still shotty (no pun intended) but workable. Story its great, very intriguing however the ending was lackluster; won't spoil you but it reminded me of a cheap horror film.. Think "Dagon (2005)" It wasn't fulfilling but in a weird way I was glad I played the game. The atmosphere is top notch in my experience, from the aesthetics to the vocal performance to the sound to the graphics. The game can indeed look astonishingly great with raytracing however I don't have the luxury to actually use that in a playable setting so I had to make do with what I have which is an RX6700XT and the performance (without raytracing or upscaling) was great in high settings at 1080p. This remaster is an improvement all around to the original specially since I wasn't all that happy with the OG's performance and frustrating balancing issue all around. The thing that really shines through with this game is it's investigative mechanics.. Great great job! this game gives off Sherlock Holmes vibes since this was made by the same studio that brought out the last Sherlock games. This is where this game shines, couple that and H.P. Lovecraft's settings' atmosphere and this game is what you're looking at. I personally enjoyed it for what it was and while disappointed with the OG at first, it then grew on me and started playing until I actually started to enjoy it. Anyways, with all the shenanigans put to rest, Looking forward to the Sinking City 2.

Loved it
It took a little while to get into, the cut scenes are a bit heavy towards the beginning of the game. But once I was past the tutoral case, it became a really great open world detective game with horror elements. It has a great clue-finding and research mechanic that took a little getting used to, but I found it quite satisfying once I got the hang of it. Story was pretty good, not the game's strongest point, but it was interesting enough to keep things moving. Combat was a little frantic at first, but it gets easier as you upgrade your skills and weapons. For an investigation type game, I felt it had a lot of combat, but it was fun.

Very engaging and solid game
Very engaging and solid game. The story, characters and 1920s setting simply draws you in along with it's Lovecraft theme. Solid investigation and exploration with clunky, but still manageable combat. The game is also a turning point for Frogwares in wanting to make games with action, open world setting, and horror elements, since both Sherlock Holmes Chapter One & The Awakened remake also carried elements from this game. The Sinking City is also getting a SEQUEL, which itself is a pleasant surprise, and it seems this is a series Frogwares will enjoy growing in the coming years.

Cthulu quand tu nous tiens
Jeu avec une très bonne atmosphère lovecraftienne. On est un détective privé enquêtant sur une étrange maladie provoquant des allucinations. On se retrouve à Oakmont après un cataclysme qui a saccagé la ville. vous devrez lutter contre la folie, des bêtes venue tout droit des abysses ou de vos pires cauchemars. Petit conseil, ouvrez bien les yeux, écoutez le moindre petit bruit. On ne ssait jamais, un indice crucial s'y cache peut être. Pour ce qui est du jeu en lui même, je mettrais pour l'ambiance générale un 4 sur 5. Pour les graphismes je mettrais un 3.5 sur 5. Les cinématiques sont très belles. Ppour les effets sonores, je mettreais un 3.9 sur 5. Et pour la maniabilité du personnage, je mettrais 4.1 sur 5. Le personnage fait bien ce qu'on lui demande de faire. Malgré des fois des petites restrictions de mouvement par l'environnement en lui même. On s'habitue très vite au gameplay du jeu.
