King of Fighters XIV offers an astonishing amount of content, with nearly double the playable characters of most other games available on day one. The fighters themselves are interesting and well designed, both visually and mechanically, and they push limits with an execution ceiling higher than perhaps any other fighting game. King of Fighters XIV’s netcode and technical shortcomings are itis biggest stumbling blocks, but mastering its characters and leveraging what you’ve learned remains satisfying regardless. There are no shortcuts to becoming the new King of Fighters, but the journey to the top is well worth taking.

Refreshing title
This KOF XIV is my next attempt of a KOF game after 98/98UM. I like it a lot, it is quite refreshing : the Max mode and its quick version to trigger during combos brings new ways to play : just hope it does not break the game into a boring "exchange of long combos" when mastered. After I am satisfied in my training there, I may try the XV...

One of the Best Iterations So Far
Arguably, the older KOF titles remain superior for veterans like me due to their tighter controls and deeper mechanics. That said, The King of Fighters XIV doesn’t abandon these qualities it simply offers a more accessible experience for players less familiar with the series’ complex combo systems which is still deep enough in this version as well. My only real complaint is the auto-combo feature: spamming light attacks can trigger it but still, it’s clearly designed to help newcomers learn the basics or just enjoy casual play. With 58 playable characters if you include the two DLC packs that add four fighters each, plus extra costumes the roster already provides tremendous replay value. Although the graphics are a mixed bag for some, but I personally appreciate the detailed character models compared to the newer cell-shaded style. It delivers a distinct vibe that feels fresh yet faithful. The soundtrack and stage design also stand out, adding energy and atmosphere to every match. Overall, if you’re looking for a fun entry point into the KOF series, XIV is a great place to start. The tutorial is straightforward enough to get beginners comfortable, while the wealth of characters and modes such as Time Attack, Survival, Trials and Story modes ensure there’s plenty to master and it should keep you busy while having fun at the same time.

It just lost it
Technical issues with amd graphics, i wanted to check if the gog version also had the same issues, it has. The game itself looks really ugly, it is not even comparable to the graphical quality the had on 2d (kof xiii was so gorgeous), and also the way the game feels is just not kof anymore, i'm still trying to give it a chance, but the game is just not compelling any more

A fun fighter to sink your time in to with good mechanics, fun characters, good maps, a entirely uninteresting story mode, and fun gameplay. The combos and move set is "simpler" than a game like Tekken, where every character has 100 moves, This game has more approachable gameplay but still has depth. And lends some great gameplay with some fun animations, feel, and combos to dunk on your opponent with. Graphics are fine, not the best but not something that you will think off when playing, but what you will notice the feel and animations of characters, and the at times varying feel of the moves with some having weaker impact and then you play a different character and feel like you are bringing down a 12 story building on the opponent with every hit. And the music is great. A solid 5/5 even if some characters are a bit boring to play, how great that we have a good amount of them in this game. (PS; Garcia, King, Vanessa = Based team)
