Brings back memories

UAKM was a favorite of mine when I was younger but I never got to play any of the others until much later once the new had long worn off the graphics. I was delighted to find out that Project Fedora had finally come about and I must say I'm not disappointed in the least. I always have that feeling in my gut when a sequel / remake comes along after 10+ years, "oh I bet they screwed it up big time" but this is the same style, same humor, same Tex, and I'm scratching my head all over again. Some of the acting is a little iffy but I guess it always was, and I don't think it really detracts from the game. The graphics aren't cutting edge but it looks good and it's a big step up from the originals. I liked some of the flashbacks to older games as well. Definitely recommended if you were ever a fan of Tex.

Detective Noir in a dark future

Tex is back and as usual he is still that wise cracking smartass of a private detective that he's always been, but maybe not so for 7 years and Tex can't remember anything of that. As usual for the game series, you go around in a 3D enviroment with FMV cutscenes every now and then to progress the story where you also like in the older games get to pick Tex's response to the characters he meets, including some of his old mutant friends. The game is also packed with the same humor as before and thus will make you either chuckle or even outright laugh wildly at the silly situations Tex will find himself in. If you ever get stuck with a puzzle or don't know what to do, then there's a handy hint system in place that detracts points whenever you take a hint, there is also a flashlight that on the casual gamemode will make certain important flashlights glimmer. If you're a fan of the Tex Murphy games and had been longing for a proper sequel after the cliffhanger in Overseer, then this is an adventure you simply must not pass up at all.

Exceeds my very high expectations

I just had to write a review. Ever since the Tex Murphy series went the way of "The Big P.I. in the Sky" I have been missing it. I recently found the other titles in the series here on GOG and have been playing them over and over, reliving some of my teenage years with both my friends and my kids. They hold up pretty well, despite the technology improvements and spotty graphics. However, when I found out that Chris Jones and crew were releasing a new Tex Murphy adventure, I was over the moon. I met with some of the team at Salt Lake Comic-Con and just started playing it. It's a virtual dream come true so far. Tex and friends finally get a dose of High-Def and the game play is improved, but still very reminiscent of the prior titles. Love the flashbacks, inside jokes and nods to Under a Killing Moon, Pandora Directive and Overseer. Can't wait to finish the story, but so far has exceeded my very high expectations. LOVING IT! Here's hoping for more!

I can't wait to play the others

I never played Tex Murphy. I like it! Well, the game has some flaws like some-time-stupid-puzzle and a very old fashioned 3D graphics, but in general it's really enjoyable. I also feel that the developers run out of ideas in the middle of the story. I know wanna play all the other games of the series to know the whole plot :) New fan Tex Murphy Fan: achieved!

True retro

When Under a killing moon came out in the 90's I was totaly lost in the world of Muprhy. The same with Pandora directive. When I found this new adventure I became glad and eveny happier after I played it. The feeling is perfect and it has the true spirit of the old games. When I turn my computer on now I am 20 years younger now :)
