System Shock® 2 (1999)

seriously system shock 2 is one of the most revolutionary games and it's fun too. It help brought the fps/rpg hybrid to the market and you can it's influence in games like deus ex,stalker,fallout 3,borderlands, and mass effect. It also inspired the bioshock series so buy it now

From "Thief" to "Deus Ex" to "System Shock", Mr. Spector made storylines much more enjoyable. His work in the prequel made System Shock 2 MY favorite game of all time. I play it at least once a year. The "Rebirth" patch enhances a few models. SS2 is a must in your game collection!!

I remember back in the day jumping at shadows in this game; I walked into a room, saw a figure looming over my shoulder.. BAM BAM BAM! uncontrolled firing of precious rounds of ammo... Into a corpse hanging by a noose from the ceiling. I hit escape and walked away from my PC closet pale and shaky. I downloaded this game from GOG and had no problems installing all the popular mods and getting it running withing 15 minutes of clicking BUY. With all the mods installed it still looks pretty basic by today's standards, but the game play, music, ambient sounds, and fear are still relevant. I didn't play Bioshock 1, but this is way better than Bioshock 2 in every way except graphically (and the graphics are still okay with Mods if you have a little imagination). This game is one of my all time top 10.

I had this game years ago and I am so pleased to be able to play it again. Love it!

Oh, I think the title of this site is created for this one game. System Shock 2 is, like everyone says, a 3D sci-fi game with combining RPG-style level system and FPS-like combat system. If you have played Deus-Ex before, maybe you are already familiar with it. Though it was released in 1999, every single element of this game is surprisingly well polished and gripping. If there is one problem, the early half of this game is bit difficult, but be patient. Pretty soon you'll be get used to and at some point, you can never stop playing this.
