Avoid like the plague!!!

This game... is bad. As in REALLY bad. It reminds me of some bad NES game from 1987. The concept is cool - synth racing in neon - there are cool games that has done this like Sayonara Wild Hearts. This thing, however is not it, it's like a tech demo that's not finished, nowhere near it. - The music is very, very bland - it feels like a 30 seconds loop. Not exactly Hotline Miami. - The camera is inverted in the beginning, when you walk up to the car lol - You drive along a super narrow road, if you touch the sides of the road you crash, GAME OVER - The gameplay is non existent (drive over icons, "finish the level", avoid the unfinished traffic that is basically road blocks) - The driving mechanics are awful and stiff + The only cool thing isthe background photo which you see in the screenshots This is the worst game I've played in many years, it's not even Alpha, it's an unfinished idea. Should not be sold on GOG. I paid $1, I demand a refund. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

Fun idea and atmosphere, poor execution

Hoping for an synthwave version of OutRun, I picked this up on sale and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. There's horrible clicking sounds interrupting the music, and the game just feels very basic and unfinished (despite the in-game message that it's out of early access).

Out of Early Access

When you start the game now, it tells you it's officially released and out of development. But it's still listed on the store as 'In Development'. This is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a finished project. You can't even turn down the sound of the engine despite putting 'Sound Effects' and 'Voice' to 0 in the settings, so that 'relaxing' music can barely be heard. I paid $1.50 for this on sale. I will be requesting a refund. This does get an additional star for the framerate and actual driving mechanics. It felt good and was very smooth, but it's not like there were any tight corners to test out the driving. It was mostly driving in a slight curve through Tron.

Unfinished

This game lives up to the Early Access it has on it's store page because despite the claim that it's out of Early Access, it still looks like an alpha test. Your objective is to "get to the finish line", which is boring because there are no opponents on level one. You have no map so you have no real idea how long this is going to take. Any slight touch of the edge of the road is an immediate game over. You lose control of your car and will continue to hear the crashing sounds through the next loading screen. This game has no way to invert the camera, which is very disappointing. The camera also feels the need to reset itself once you get in the car. What you have instead of camera controls that feel tolerable to use, is a clock that shows you the real world time and date, for some reason. Visually this game is fine but all you have is Squared off towers passing you by, more skyscraper buildings in the background, the road and an RGB grid paper field to look at. Your character model is okay, but I don't understand why you don't just start in the car if the main goal is to drive. The car model is so unremarkable I forgot what it was once the game was closed. The music in this game is Synth and not memorable either. If it's dirt cheap and you have nothing better, it may be a better option than arson. It's not a good choice if your looking for a racing game, action game, or Sci-fi game.

Cute tech demo, critical play problems

The most glaring problem in the game are the near-invisible curbs hidden at the edge of the playable area of the road, which instakill you if you so much as graze them. They take up about a quarter of the visible "road" area, and you have to constantly strain to pick them out compared to the very hard edge between the neon backgrounds and the unusable shoulder. The sound and controller options are missing basic functions, with no way to change the inverted mouse view, nor any way to adjust the volume of either the car engine and crash sounds, nor the background music. A highlight on the curb (even just a neon pipe to represent it) and some basic options would make the game worth maybe half the theoretical $10 asking price. As-is it wasn't worth the buck and a half I paid for it.
