A happy medium
I enjoyed the first two South park games, in this storyline (despite UBISOFT being involved) when i first heard about Snow Day--i had just completed the fractured but whole and being that I'm not one of these DEI types and I don't want pointless, politica panderingl jargan in my games; I was sure i was going to buy it. i've always like south park and I can appreciate Parker & Stone's work. I laughed within the first 5 minutes. initially, i was concerned that this would be an online-only game: and those are good, until their not. I actually have a copy of Friday the 13th game and now, i use it as a doorstop. This is one of the reasons Online only games suck. The game itself has a new publisher behind it--THQ Nordic (which also brought us the excellent Alone in the Dark 2024) and it's predecessor made some pretty good Evil Dead games. it's fully 3D this time, which takes some getting used to; but works pretty well. i figured they must have made this choice; because maybe it's easier to do models then 2d stuff. Also as another plus--I don't think this game has anything to do with crap factories like Sweet Baby Inc. I'm only about 5 hours into the game right now; but I'm enjoying it. the graphics are nice, it controls really well amd it runs super smooth, even on my i5; but i do have some gripes; it can be a bit confusing to navigate where you're going at times and on screen map would have been handy. that being said; there are markers that you follow, also during combat--which is now free flowing, as opposed to grid and turn-based; it can get quite challanging and a bit overwhelming but you do have AI companions that are not that stupid. I'm sure that this game is a barrel of monkeys with a good group of people--which brings me to my next point of contention; i don't knoe if this is cross-play or if i can only play with people who have gog; but they should really address that. it's fun, it's south park but it's something different.
