The real BS Card-nonexisting multiplayer
I hesitated whether to buy this game at all, as I haven't seen a title with similarly low ratings on Metacritic, etc., for a long time. Nevertheless, it's South Park, so the game's setup triumphed over reason. Yet, I am not impressed with this title. Technically: The game looks like it was lifted straight from the 90s, yet it still manages to drop frames on a 3080Ti. Gameplay: The combat system feels stiff, typical South Park humor is scarce, and AI-controlled helpers have the IQ of an amoeba. So maybe swapping AI for actual human intelligence and trying to play with people? And here we come to the biggest problem with this game. No one is playing it! And that's just one of many problems - according to steamcharts.com, the all-time peak players in the first week were a measly 3700 people. Dead on arrival. For three days, multiple times, at different times, I tried to join any game on GOG. Not once did the game find a single match to join. This is ridiculous - a cooperative single-player game with useless AI helpers... I assume the only way to play with another living person is to jointly purchase this game on the same platform, but despite my great affection for the franchise, I wouldn't be able to recommend anyone to buy this game - quite the opposite, save your time, money, and sense of disappointment. Perhaps crossplay will be introduced to the game, which might partially improve the chances of finding any online matches on this platform. However, until that happens and there is evidence that it actually works (and the player base doesn't dwindle to nothing by then), it will remain a short, boring, single-player title with little replay value.
