They don't make games like this anymore

Super fast gameplay with no lag (comparable to the original Quake), awesome weapons, realistic setting with cool characters and the most brutal gore effects in gaming history, yeah thats the fist SoF, sadly the sequels are all pretty lame compared to the original game. If you ever wanted to feel like a real mercenary who is hunting down hordes of bad guys all over the world, then this is your game.

DO NOT BUY!!!

DOES NOT WORK ON MODERN PCS YOU WILL SPEND HOURS SETTING THIS AND SOF2 UP they crash still. Tons of Hoops you have to jump through just to get it to "run" @1440p then aroujnd the 4th level the game wont even work. COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE. But what do i know right? Download it and see for yourself dont say I didnt warn ya.

Unfinished port

First off, let me say you CAN get the game running with a little work and this game is amazing, it's just that GOG isn't totally truthful when they say it's compatible with windows 10. The game would refuse to launch on my windows 10 machine. I would click on the game and nothing would launch, however GOG Galaxy claimed the game was running, even though it wasn't. As it turns out, the fix was to go into the games folder, copy and paste the Soldier of Fortune .exe in the same folder, and re-name the copied .exe to "mohaa", click on that .exe then boom, game launches. WHY THE F*CK DO I HAVE TO DO THIS? Not only was that mildly infuriating to figure out, but GOG didn't bother to add a widescreen patch either. Again, SOF is an AMAZING GAME, and this is probably the best place to attain it nowadays, but I cant justify a perfect score when GOG is this lazy. Also Activision is run by retarded ants, so f*ck them in their fat f*cking greedy asses
