SILENT HILL 2

Music used at the wrong times ruining atmosphere in some cases. More of a focus on Combat because Modern Audiences have major problems with the Psychological Horror aspect vs Over the Top Action and need a dopamine hit every minute or they lose focus and will call the game "Boring". Again, Modern Audience. Voice Actors are not as good as the Original, and lines have been changed. Impactful scenes have been changed "Angela's is one example" which explains more of why her personality is the way that it is. Play the OG Silent Hill 2 for PS2, or SH2 Restless Dreams for Xbox, or the patched version of SH2 for PC, then go play this remake and you will completely understand what I'm saying. Fanboys won't care, true Silent Hill fans will after you truly see the difference for yourself.

Super history, graphics and sounds. No DRM.

This game is in t-t-t-t-typical Bloober fashion rife with performance issues and st-st-st-st-st-stutters. The graphics are beautiful, but the out of sync animation glitches and constant UE5 traversal stutters completely ruin any s-s-s-s-s-s-embalnce of immersion. There are a-a-a-a-a-also startup crash issues that have e-e-e-e-existed since release. These i-i-i-i-ssues still persist. I must have a different definition of what a m-m-m-m-m-masterpiece is because th-th-th-th-th-th-th-this ain't it in terms of Performance. The combat, Bloober's first attempt, is repetitous and boring. As for the st-st-st-st-st-story.....I heard it might be good, but I can't f-f-f-f-f-f-force myself to s-s-s-s-s-sit through the performance issues.

The original is also considered abandonware, so if you want the BEST Silent Hill 2 experience, track the original down, and run it with Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition. You won't get the experience Konami gave us with the Silent Hill HD Collection and its messed up renderer. You'll get a fan-made rebuild of the original game executable that works on modern systems. Don't waste your money on this DEI tainted version of a horror classic.

It's great that GOG is starting to offer these types of games. GOG is the best gaming platform. There are still many more games to be added.. missing games like: -Spec ops:the line -Uncharted 1,2 and 3 -Crysis 1,2 and 3 remastered -Assassin's creed (all of them) -Dead island definitive edition and riptide definitive edition x -Resident evil 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (all of them) -Max Payne 3 -GTA 4, GTA 5 -Far cry 3,4,5,6 -Alan wake 2 and Alan wake remastered -Ghost recon: wildlands -Ghost recon: Breakpoint -Rise of the Tom raider -Shadows of the Tom raider -Remember me -Devil may cry 4 and 5 -Mass effect legendary edition remastered and mass effect Andromeda -Dying light 2 -Just cause 3 and 4 -God of gar Ragnarok -Red dead redemption 1 and 2 -Space marine 2 -Monster Hunter world,rise etc. -Tle last of us part 1 and part 2 -Dead space 2,3 and Dead space remake -Quantum break - Prototype 1 and 2 and many more games, and if GOG manages to bring them to this platform I will buy them all without thinking twice. I'm very happy with GOG.
