Showgunners is not just for show!
This game follows the Firaxis formula of turn-based tactics, so it plays very well in the combat phase. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sleek, light RPG-style system outside of combat with exploration, loot collecting, combat ability unlocks and more. The only negative thing I have to say so far after playing through 3 episodes, but which struck me immediately, is that the art direction is a bit too cluttered. There's a bit too much visual information in the amazingly-detailed levels and you and the enemy units tend to get lost in the noise. Recommended play if you have that XCOM itch to scratch with something different.

Got it for free, but I'd recommend buying it (at least on sale) for anyone who likes cyberpunk-themed tactics. Just don't expect RPG elements like Shadowrun Returns, though it scratches a similar itch. The announcer gets a little grating. There might be a setting to silence his repeated dialogue during combat, but I haven't looked for it.
