Beautiful graphics, gameplay and story. Very cool mechanics and variety, you can't get bored. It is easy to get lost and hard to get 100% completion due to the cadeux. Game is creepy and scary. The music is awesome. This version has new bosses that weren't in the N64 Version. The Horror difficulty is a very tough challenge to get all achievements. Very easy to fall in love with this game.
I have the original game and was unable to play it, why, because of the, at lest to me, atrocious MK (mouse and keyboard) controls, the mouse sensitivity, even at max, was like driving thought deep mud and the water controls were specially frustrating. Btw don't know about gamepad controls, because I don't use those, so they could have been better but not useful to me.
I was about to give up on the game but I could see the potencial on it, behind this bad MK controls I saw lurking a good game. So knowing about the remaster, I came to look at the store page, when I read the controls were improved, I bit the bullet and bought it and man, I'm so happy I did, because to me the game improved leaps and bounds!
Now was so nice to navigate and play, the MK controls became way better the user interface navigation as well, all that brought a huge smile to my face.
Another thing that I knew would be better, was the graphics and they did improved some things, specially the real time lighting and shadows. Yes the characters are still low poly and the animations are still janky but what do we aspect? Is a remaster of a old game, not a full remake like Black Mesa.
To finish this I will just say again, If not for the remaster, I would have never played this game for more than a few minutes, in its original state it would stay forgotten in my library, like many other games with atrocious MK controls.
So to me, what the remaster did, was bring this fantastic game to more people, not only those that have patience enough to suffer through the old bad MK controls or perhaps, if the gamepad controls are better, like to play PC games with gamepads.
The latest patch 1.5 does not work with minimum requirements met.
It does not even start..Just throwing error" kexPlatformApp::Failedto initialize window for Vulkan(Installed Vulkan doesn´t implement the VK_KHR_ surface extension)"
Vulkan or DirectX10(DirextX11 on Steams side) is required.
And I have full support on DirectX 11..And other requirements are met.
Game cannot even create kexengine.cfg on the save files folder(or saves)
only stderr.txt and stdout.txt..There is no workaround..

I have version 1.31 which works just fine..
Compatibility is broken..
For everyone thinking of buying this I recommend checking 100% Vulkan compatibility..
I can´t guarantine it would still work..
Please Night Dive Studios..Fix this..
