Super Difficult to Navigate But Fun
So, before playing through this game, I had only played the original for a brief amount of time. I was determined to beat the game in this remaster, however, and the further I got, the more confusing navigating its world became. The game is easily one of the most convoluted games I've ever managed to complete. I wound up having to use a guide to figure out where I was supposed to go next because the game offers no hints. Ultimately there's a lot of backtracking to previous areas to get to new areas that open up. Managing to complete this game, even with a guide, felt like a full-time job, and a major accomplishment. By the end of it I was thinking, "My gob, this game is absolutely nuts to navigate." Still, I thought it was a pretty enjoyable game. It's also a fairly lengthy one too, I clocked in at 25h 43m total. I gladly recommend it but be prepared for a long haul once you start playing it.

A Perfect Remaster
Adding cut content, splicing the best pieces and parts in from the different releases, and tons of new secrets hiding in the fringes. I wish every game remaster was this high quality.

Much to like
Played this on the Dreamcast 25 years ago, and the remaster for the PC brings back a lot of happy memories. The basic gameplay loop is engaging enough, although the combat can be a bit repetitive and frustrating at times. My biggest gripe is how easy it is to get lost and 'forget' exactly which tunnel branch or temple exit you need, thereby ending up going around in circles for bl00dy ages!
