A particle physicist’s mysterious and spectacular death sparks a race to find his hidden vault and claim his terrifying new discovery. The player will take control of four characters whose lives become entangled in the search for the scientist’s vault. They will have to learn to trust each other and work together to overcome the obstacles in their way and to keep this new and powerful technology out of the hands of a dangerous organization.
Resonance is a joint effort between Wadjet Eye and xii games. It's been five years in the making, and it's without-a-doubt their longest and most ambitious game to date. This gem is made by gamers for gamers, and you can clearly see that in almost every element of the game. From the polished and intuitive interface, through well balanced puzzles, all the way to the fun and gripping story, you can tell that xii games knows how to get the job done right. So if you are an old-school adventure game fan then this game should scratch all the old-skool gaming itches you’ve been feeling while delighting you with its innovations and story.
Twisting and riveting storyline that you experience from four different perspectives as freely swap between all the main characters to solve puzzles and progress through the game.
Unique long-term and short-term memory system that creates new possibilities to solve puzzles and uncover mysteries.
Intuitive interface makes for one of the best adventure gaming experiences you’ll get.
All the love and care you’ve come to expect from the developer of such classics as Gemini Rue and the Blackwell series.

The groupe mechanic in this game is interesting at best. Most of the time it plays out as frustration - as does the interface. The puzzles themselves are nothing less than cumbersome and annoying, and have no doubt pushed many people away from the game in the early stages.
My advice: pick it up cheap, or if you've survived plenty of much older point and click adventures.
Very painful interface with hovers getting in the picture every time, not possible to TAB between characters, not possible to speed up the walking (or double click to get out of location), hard puzzles feel not more exciting but more frustrating. I would definitely agree that it is overrated.
Timed puzzles, pixel hunting and repeating actions are not cool for me. I like Blackwell and Unavowed from the same developers, but not this game. Unfortunately.
The story is not really interesting until the very end. The characters are relatable, but there is a stupid twist at the end, which didn't make any sense. The gameplay is awful. I really hated it. It's a drag and drop interface which takes a lot of time and is tedious. You control 4 characters and they can swap objects. They have to be physically present to do this which is realistic but annoying. DOT already had that and was much older....
Some of the puzzles are really hard and make no sense.
It's not fully voiced, The dialogue is good but the thoughts aren't voiced.
All in all....only buy when it's on sale.
The story itself, and that is what is most important in a point 'n click adventure, is good to very good.
The graphic style is difficult to see, at least for me, especially the font used is horrible.
The voice acting is not convincing and could be far better. Most of the time it sounds like read in a way, a parent tells a tale to his child. I mean with a little drama, but still not convincing as an audio drama.
But that too is really not so much of a problem, since the writing is ok and the story good, like I said before.
BUT the whole game design is pure crap.
Even a first timer in designing a P 'n C adventure game, would do it 100% better.
The use of inventory and characters and all those clickable stuff is so tedious and ugly made.
You have to ask every party member to follow you, otherwise they will stand where they are. BUT you need to do this every time you clicked on an interactive object, like a code panel ect.
The logic of order of most puzzles is a joke. There could have been a more attendive gamelogic to recognize other, and most of the time even far more logical, solutions to a problem.
Even in the early 90s, a lot of games had a far better game design and logic. (Not all though)!
Its a shame to give this game 2 stars, since the story really hooked me.
Games that did a fantastic job in design and story and voiceacting, fonts and visibilety are: Kathy Rains, Whisper of a machine, and Norco (though Norco had no voiceacting).
Next I will play Gemii Rue, since I read other Wadjet Eye Games are great, said by people who didn't like Resonance because those very problems mentioned.
Because of my experience I eally am sorry that I, for the first time in my (REVIEW-CARRIER) have to say:
