Visit lost temples, forgotten cities and untamed wilderness to discover magnificent treasures. Find your way past wolves, smugglers and angry locals to become known as a fearless explorer. Every expedition has challenging encounters and your nemesis Rivaleux will take any chance to thwart your efforts.
Select your band of adventurers carefully! Each of the 20 explorers has their own expertise and character traits when dealing with conflicts. Choose among Fighters, Scouts, Speakers and Scientists and find out the best way to use their talents.
Acquire knowledge, get rich, or become famous by completing procedurally generated expeditions. Use these resources to get the skills, support and equipment you need for your next endeavor.
Approach the locals consciously when running into a conflict;
- Fight them with Melee, Ranged and Area of Effect attacks,
- win them over using Cheers, Charms and Compliments,
- or scare them away by Insults, Taunts and Humiliation

J'ai découvert ce jeu sur la chaîne d'Etrigane. Les concepts me plaisaient. La thématique colonialiste peut être dérangeante, mais je dois reconnaître que je me suis pris au jeu. J'ai bien du mal à m'arrêter. Sans doute l'effet casino des roues du hasard et des jetons de gain. Les combats ne sont pas bidon, il faut bien réfléchir avant de foncer dans le tas. Je trouve dommage que les magasins et spécialistes ne soient pas aléatoires. De préférence, prenez-le avec toutes les extensions, sinon vous trouverez l'ensemble des lieux à visiter limité.
Surprisingly satisfying tactical rpg, deeper than expected. Don't expect a fallout-like though, let's say it's kind of an Expeditions : conquistadors but more simple.
Fun and campy, but sometimes quirky tactical game. Friendly, Devious, and Aggressive playing styles and various emotions have different effects. Lots of wolves, sheep, cats and cultists. Lots of secret places, treasures, and battles. Each game is a bit different, even with the same missions.
But some of it is just weird- only male belly dancers? NPCs hitting on and attacking opposite or same-sex player characters? Some of the campiness devolves into bizzare.
Abbey Games has done some fantastic work! So far, they have only published Renowned Explorers and Reus, and both games have been some of my favorites. I love the creativity they have put into the game mechanics. I love their artwork and animations. I love their humor. I love how their games have excellent replayability without being a time-sink. I love how smoothy the games are optimized (never lags, never crashes). And I love especially how "clean" their games are.
Renowned Explorers is an incredible game, in every respect. Thank you so much, Abbey Games.
