A fun simple game with lots of potential

After 10 hours of game-play I can say that the game has a very good foundation. The art and music were great and everything worked smoothly. There is no unnecessary fluff and it cuts straight to the action. Although the progression and combat system could use some work, I think it's a good game. I'm interested to see what changes will be made in the future. Update: The game and especially the combat has been significantly improved since the Adventure Update from September. A ton of stuff was added that has really fleshed out the game. I really appreciate the developers listening to the community!

Basic functionality behind dlc paywall

This game is basically early access. If you want the full release, you'll have to buy the ultimate edition. Scummy business practice. Check the steam reviews for more info.

Class' Locked Behind Paywall.

There maybe no "microtransactions", but class' are locked behind a paywall; the Founder's Pack has 12 class'. How is this not just as scummy practice as microtransactions?

fun but repetitive game

Fun game, bit repetitive after a few hours. Asking price is too steep, considering the DLCs are required for the "full-game" experience.

Tolerable with Magic DLC

I really, really appreciate what the developer was attempting to do. But I expected a procedural-environment FPS roguelite with a LOT more than this, honestly. Hell, Minecraft outdoes this game. The game is almost entirely melee focused, which would be okay if it was a bit... "more". And it is, sort of, but not enough to carry the game very far. Thankfully there is parrying, archery, and some stealth, but it devolves into what a lot of the Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind do, which is "Stealth Archer or go home" just to break up the monotony of melee combat. I previously refused to purchase this game until the magic system DLC came out, and unfortunately that (separately reviewed) is a huge letdown. Eventually you overlevel (~10 hours on normal difficulty) and on lower difficulties can one-shot everything, and then the game loses any appeal. THE GAME IS REPETITIVE AND BORING. The saving grace is that the procedural generation, stealth, archery, and magic give enough variety to endure the game to see what it offers (which isn't much to begin with), and some of the levels have very nice touches. The quality of life is impressive as well, such as unlimited inventory space and fast-transfer construction materials to storage or fast-sell junk items that only exist for selling. But this game had so much potential that I want to cry at how much wasn't implemented.
