Not recommended

The world is nice to look at, but practically everything else is a mess. The story and characters are boring. Granted, I stopped playing a couple hours in, but I just don't see story or characters get any better. Platforming is clunky. Combat isn't responsive enough. The faction affinity mechanic is annoying, and the donation system is broken (several times I donated stuff to a faction only to have them hate me more in return). Crafting is okay-ish, but the limited inventory makes handling of crafting resources a pain. And resources spawn only in specific places that aren't marked on the map, so you have to keep track of the locations yourself.

Needs optimization!

The most glaring bad thing is the stutter in this game, framerate drops to zero very often. It has no real graphics options , which is not helpful. It really spoils the fun factor of the game. The game itself is not bad, but please can the developers fix the stutter? I have Ryzen 5 6 core cpu, and gtx 980ti, 16 gigs ram, and it can't play without stutter, it appears to be a common issue, even on much higher spec computers than mine.

Petit studio mais grande réussite

Pine réalisé par une toute petite équipe de 7 personnes réussi brillamment dans le genre jeu d'action/aventure en mode ouvert. Une aventure grandiose avec des paysages magnifiques. Le scénario est bon est donne vraiment envie d'en savoir plus sur cette île. Le gameplay est correcte avec des combats qu'il faut apprivoiser pour ne pas se faire laminer. Justement les combats peuvent au début s'éviter et avec la monté en puissance de notre équipement ça donne vraiment le sentiment d'accomplissement. Le monde ouvert donne toute la liberté au joueur d'explorer et les changements sur l'île donne vie à ce monde. Une durée de vie généreuse (20 à 35 heures) pour un si petit prix. À noter quelques problèmes de collision mais rien de grave car la qualité du titre est exemplaire : très peu de bug et surtout ceux qui restent ne sont pas pénalisants et non bloquants. J'ai passé un très bon moment de divertissement et je recommande le jeu à tout les amoureux d'aventure/exploration dans un mode ouverte.

Sadly Unoptimized

I'm really trying to enjoy PINE but the performance just gets in the way. To give some context I'm running this on an i7-8700 + RTX 2070. The gameplay and art direction are pretty solid I just wish it ran better.

full of jank but not the good kind

rebindable but clunky controls, making mandatory platforming and combat even more frustrating. long loading times. annoying typewriter effect for text display. annoying gibberish without a separate speech volume setting. hunger, stamina and constant resource-gathering to keep them up, along with non-refilling health. hold instead of press to interact and pick stuff up. from what I've read it gets worse later with a questionable reputation system and whatnot but I threw in the towel after an hour or so. price is crazy too.
