Les combats...

I have seen many negative comments about this game and its fighting system. Although being a stealth game, the game imposes us all the same from time to time, and there was something to be frustrated! But rest assured, we are currently at version 1.08 and the developers take great care of their game, the combat system is now in focus. It is not XCOM and offers its own shooting system / cover. If you like the atmosphere of the screenshots, you'll love it. J'ai vu de nombreux commentaires négatifs à propos de ce jeu et son système de combat. Bien qu'étant un jeu d'infiltration, le jeu nous en impose tout de même de temps en temps, et il y avait de quoi être frustré! Mais soyez rassuré, nous sommes à l'heure actuelle à la version 1.08 et les développeurs prennent grand soin de leur jeu, le système de combat est maintenant au point. Ce n'est pas XCOM et propose son propre système de tir/couverture. Si vous aimez l'ambiance des screenshots, vous adorerez.

Closer to long war 2 than xcom

many compare doctrine with the newest x - coms but it is mostly because doctrine is a turn based game while xcom redefined the genre (so are close in the sense that all the 4x4 cars called jeep ). Other than that is one of the very few turn based games bold enough to try somethings different while preserve many succeeded elements from xcom The pace of Doctrines gameplay remind me most of the long war 2 mod. You can send multiple Teams in different places, you will need to farm some missions before progress the story in order to level up and you will learn to care about those agents of yours. stealth means a lot ( we talking about spies) but honestly I had the first mission without kill someone after 140 hours of gameplay. Bring one or two agents cover up to do the job and the rest armed to teeth waiting in the corner like an A team and you will ne fine. The boarding mini game is also a welcome addition. Graphics - builded on unreal engine is the quality difference here ( I m looking at you phoenix point ) beautiful lights, quite well models and textures. I wouldn't believe I'd say that but the 80s feeling feels very fresh after so many sci fi turn based. Sound- voices with some exceptions are not so well made, especially the cia protagonist is abysmal. the music on the other hand is gorgeous and enough subtle at the same time so to not get repetitive easily. Sound fx, especially guns are high quality. Atmosphere - everything screems 80s. From the building designs, the interiors, the clothes. That said, everyone who lived in the 80s will remember that those were hard times, raining every night when you had to go on undercover missions and especially breaking windows to come in was something ordinary and not at all suspicious. Ill admit that Can become somewhat repetitive ( almost all sanboxes games can ) but after watching an episode of homeland, secret city or even broadchurch I always ant to returne for one more mission.

Disappointed

After I had to start over for the third time due to lost save files within two weeks, I'm highly disappointed with this game. The scenarios are repetitive as there are only a handful of maps, regardless if you're in Russia, the U.S. or North Africa. It's always night and it always rains on tactical missions. Firefights on higher difficulty levels are somewhat ridiculous when the opponent shoots through the windows of two buildings and hits your character right in the back for 50 HP from 300 yards away. Two entire campaigns were lost because of cloud saves not working properly which was most annoying. Miraculously, the missing saves from two weeks ago reappeared with the latest patch, deleting the progress of the new game I started when these files disppeared. I'll give the game one last chance with disabled cloud saves before it will be deleted from my hard drive. I had high hopes for this game, but all of them were disappointed. This is not to say that PD is a bad game, but with a little more time and effort I could have been great. As it is now, its only mediocre.

Very solid, hit by a few flaws.

This is a very well done game - the visuals, gameplay and story work well. However, each has its problems, which just hold it back: Graphics - the game is very dark and every map seems to be raining, ends up making the game look dull, when it shouldn't - the water effects are great and the environmental design fantastic. Gameplay - needs to learn from Xcom 2 - lots of little features just don't quite work. Story - takes too long to get anywhere - I’m 80 hours in and we still feel at the beginning. That said, absolutely worth playing.

XCOM-style espionage game

The combat and the base-building are pretty similar to XCOM games. In this one, you play as an agent of either the CIA or the KGB. Between missions, you send agents to gather intel and assess threats. Overall the game seems fine, but it hasn't hooked me. Maybe I need to keep playing
