Not as enhanced as I imagined
I was hoping an update to quality of life things like access to henchman's inventories in the first campaign, faster (not slower) loot fade ins. Maybe the ability to have more than one henchman at a time in the original game. These are obvious enhancements to the original game that seem to have been ignored for some reason.

A fantastic new lease of life for NWN
The game turned 20 this year and the community is still thriving; over a thousand players online each night, and new custom online worlds being launched for the game every other month. The game is also being remastered, with the developers (Beamdog) having launched a free, massive HD remaster patch at the end of 2021 which the community is building upon and expanding. That should tell you all you need to know about how special this game is. It is the closest any video game has ever gotten to bringing the 'real' Dungeons & Dragons tabletop gaming experience into a digital form. NWN remains unique despite its age; no other game has ever allowed players to host massive, custom-built persistent online worlds, fill them with handcrafted adventures, creatures, scenery and terrain, entirely customised game mechanics and UI, visuals... everything, really... and no other game has allowed players to act as Dungeon Masters (like in tabletop D&D), manipulating the world around other players in order to craft live, on-the-fly adventures and make the world react realistically to players' actions. NWN is a treasure, and with the Enhanced Edition Beamdog has not only brought it back to life, but has massively expanded what players can create with this one-of-a-kind sandbox D&D toolkit, from huge expansions to the scripting language and creation tools, to adding a ton of new content and graphics upgrades for us to play with. May NWN: Enhanced Edition live for another 20 years, I say.

Great classic
There is a lot of different opinions about Beamdogs revival of these old classics. Let me just start out by saying: at least they have made it possible for us to play these games on new machines with new monitors and i'm grateful for that. I also think they have done a pretty decent job tbh. The only real criticism i have is that there could have been a bit more work on various bugs (cause the game still have quite a few of them). Besides that i enjoy playing this game exactly as much as i did back when it came out. I know there is also different opinions on this, but it is one of my personal favorites from Bioware. It just holds a special place in my heart and in this EE it still holds up today. Be aware though that this is a SLOW paced rpg, with a lot of reading, exploring and looting (if you want the full experience). So if you don't have the patience for that, it might not be for you.

Dated but Fun
I just finished the three main modules (The Wailing Death, shadow of Undrentide, and Hoards of the Underdark), so I'm focused on those experinces. The first you can tell was rushed with how all the acts have the main quest be "collect 3 or 4 plot items and turn them in," something the other two aren't restricted by. While I don't mind the jank of an older RPG base on D&D 3e (not 3.5e), I can see that being an issue for some. The lack of a proper adventuring party is also a point against it. Still, I say give it a try. People are still making modules for it, so you have no shortage of conent at least.

I Love This!!!
Even if it wasn't "On Sale" this game would be Totally worth it! Have you ever played NWN as a DM or Co-DM? Oh man! Have you ever played a game of NWN that was run by a DM or two... maybe three? Neverwinter Nights is an experience that no other software has accomplished as wonderfully - to date. I usually just play single player, but Love the opportunity to get in with a group. What Beamdog has done here is brilliant! I love the new graphics styles! I love the new UI too! This also includes the Diamond Edition so we Really get a lot to love with this. I'm especially thankful for the inclusion of the NWN Art Book! This thing is Gorgeous! If you enjoy D&D, this collection can keep you gaming for the rest of your life. It reminds me of tabletop D&D with miniatures that are animated and dungeon tiles that are alive! Even without adding community addons (but this game was designed to add mods!) the collection of D&D creatures, monsters and villains along with non-hostile animals and NPCs, etc., is truly extraordinary. It's So Complete! The environments are awesome too. When the dust settles after you've saved the realm, or died trying, why not head into the Toolset and build a world of your own? It's really fun and, as easy as it is to create... anything, it's also a very robust game engine editor where we can script all manner of things, create custom stuff, or just use assets that are free for the taking - right within the toolset! Example: When I wanted to create an Artificial Intelligence behavior script for townsfolk, I simply opened the one that comes with the NPCs and there are commented lines that can be turned on or off simply and easily with instructions right in the script itself! Not all scripts are this way, but most are. I am no coder and I did an awful lot of it back in the day when I created The Lands of Cormyr. Like I said, though: most of the time I just hop in and play for hours on end in a single player adventure. Love it!
