Very unique and entertaining title
Missionforce: Cyberstorm is connecting very well two things which are usually difficult to reconcile - complex gameplay and accessibility. On the one hand, it offers A LOT of stuff to modify - such as all possible parts of your mechs (here called "HERCs"): hull, engine, shield generator, various weapon types (all have some strong & weak sides). All HERCs are piloted by artificial lifeforms, called Bioderms (you can also change them, modify them, and sometimes unfortunately "trash" as well). And don't forget about battle conditions (high and low ground, terrain type, direction of your HERC, deciding which weapons you wish to shoot at the moment, shields state (you can redirect power at any time!) etc. And it's all great - because all this stuff is very intuitive and you can catch it very quickly, even without help of instruction manual. And you will surely need to do your best, because enemy plays quite aggresive and it's becaming quite challenging with further missions. Of course you can decide to take your time and before advancing further (main goal of every "chapter" is to conquer enemy HQ in the sector, every time it's very challenging mission!), focus on mining missions to gain more resources. Collecting ore can be considered as a bit tedious thing (those missions are focused on collecting ore scattered on battlefield and fighting with residing enemy units. I personally didn't had much issue with that, but I admit, this may be one of the "bad" sides of this game. It's also amazing that despite quite humble colour pallette game looks really nice - animations are pleasant for eye, HERCs and enemy Cybrid units are quite detailed for game from 1996. And when you're done with campaign (which will take you A LOT of time), you have also quick battles and multiplayer mode in form of good old hot-seat (unfortunately, GOG version doesn't have network multiplayer working) I rarely have "no doubts" about games, but this is one of those magnificent titles, which I wholeheartly recommend. It's great!
