Good game, horrible stability

Has great potential
Some really good improvements have been made on the original game as well some questionable changes. Improved AI, diplomacy, building queue & some new spells are among some good changes. It seems that some other changes were made for the sake of making changes without really adding anything meaningful. It would have been nice to have added some sort of multiplayer for human against human play, even if only over LAN. The addition of an extremely large world & the ability to play against all the wizards at once is very interesting. However, for some reason, enemy wizards randomly retire, quit, go missing, ect with neutrals taking control of their cities even early in the game, which makes one wonder why they would even be included in the game in the first place if you are not actually ever going to play against them. It would make sense if they were defeated by another wizard or wandering monsters or perhaps the victim of rebellion, but for an AI opponent to just get up, walk away & say I don't wanna play no more makes no sense at all. I even turned off random events to try to keep this from happening but wizards just quit the game randomly regardless.

If u own the game + dlc separarately.
As a reviewer ready says, it should be free fort those who own thr game and the dlc. Makes no sense to pay twice for the same thing.

Just ignore the stupid people
who whine about this addon being a scam. It's not, I believe the DOS version was updated to an extent where it just wasn't possible to make it any better and add new features and redesigns. This "DLC" feels like a completely different game, with rebalanced building orders, units and spells. And this "DLC" also supports MODs, and there's one that blew me away "Caster of Magic for Windows: Warlord". It rebalances all the legacy units, spells and retorts and adds 4 new races, which aren't just a bunch of units with different stats, but feel absolutely unique and play nothing like any of the original races. So in total we've got like 5 different games here : 1. The original (DOS) 2. The original with community patch (DOS) 3. Caster of magic (DOS) 4. Caster of Magic for Windows 5. Caster of Magic for Windows: Warlord (free MOD) All of these might look the same, but every single one of them has it's own unique flavor.

not ready for release
This looks like it wasn't ready for release. The interface looks worse than the original from '94. Why is it more pixelated? I wanted to like this game and play for the new features, but I keep shutting it off because the of the interface. The color scheme is changed, pixelation is bad, some of the shortcut keys were changed (example: typing C no longer centers on a unit). I hope this will be revised soon. When it is, I will come back for a revised review.
