Took a Leap of Faith. Didn't Regret It!

I'm not one to buy adult VNs but after reading all the positive reviews, I had to take a proverbial 'Leap of Faith' and give it a try. I don't regret my purchasing decision whatsoever. While there are flaws, such as some of the character models looking weird in certain scenes or fourth-wall breaking moments, overall this is such as well written story with characters you'll grow to love over the course of the game. The music selection is incredibly top notch, although it is a shame certain tracks have been omitted due to licensing issues. What sticks out to me most is how Drifty handled the most important plot element (no spoilers - if you've played you'll know exactly what I'm referring to). It's clear Drifty has either experienced or has someone close who experienced what is presented in the game. A lot of what characters express and say in the game are words I've heard personally and is a true reflection of how it actually is. Rather than glorifying or giving a romanticised view of a very serious subject matter, it's handled with respect and shows the player just how much of an effect it can have not only with those suffering, but on the lives of those around them. It's disappointing that 99% of people will never get to experience this wonderful story due to the adult nature of the game. This game has an important message and one I truly believe needs to be experienced at least once. Yes, this is chock full of nudity and adult scenes, but if you can look past that, you'll find a VN that will stick with you and one you'll remember for quite some time. I took a chance, a 'Leap of Faith,' on this game and I highly recommend those reading this review to consider to do so as well. Drifty, if you're reading this review, hat's off to you! You crafted an amazing VN and I honestly can't wait to see what else you have in the pipeline.

A little inside information

The reason why the story is so good is because Cece's story is inspired by the dev's own story - the large texts you read at the end of chapter 6 happened in real life... especially the part when she told him to write the story -- the hug, and the last time he would see her alive. I own this game from the itch version and will probably buy this one from GOG soon. I monitored its progress from the very beginning. I have played so many AVNs and this one is one of the best, if not THE best - story-wise. The best are always the ones that are inspired from true stories.

It broke me

This is the single most emotionally devastating piece of fiction I have ever borne witness to. The writing is exceptional and captures the human experience almost without flaw.

Strong VN regardless of adult content

Let me preface this by saying some things: 1) This game/VN contains subjects and elements that may be tough for people to deal with, and if you're struggling mentally for any reason - please take care of yourself, seek help if you need it and think twice whether playing a game touching dark subjects (such as self-harm and mental struggles, to a strong degree) is a good choice for *you* right now. 2) The game is relatively linear, so you *will* encounter such things regardless of how you play. 3) Adult content is certainly present, but it is *not* the main focus of the game. This is a bit more than a simple generic AVN. 4) Will try to avoid spoilers, some minor ones may follow though. --- That said, I find the game well put together, and a lot of the things it contains is dealt with quite well. I found some things to be a bit ham-handed or implausible (didn't really like the MC for example, nor his behavior, mentality or actions in several places regardless of choice), whereas other interactions were *extremely* poignant and actually pretty realistic. Coming from someone who's had experience in psychology and psychiatry - both on the receiving and providing end. The storytelling and many character aspects are hands down the strongest parts of the game, and I want to send some serious sympathy and love to the creator for being able to do this. The general writing I find overall to be good - not great, not bad either. Same thing goes for art and animation, some hit and miss for me. Some fantastic work, and some I don't vibe with at all. (Speaking of art and writing - there's an interesting logic slip at a bus stop encounter, where there's a very visible "bus line runs 24 hours" sign, and then you enter conversations stating "the buses have stopped going for the night".) This is no Acting Lessons or Being a DIK (I consider those to be the best genre staples), but it definitely is a strong one. In many ways. A bit linear, but still a decent amount of choices.

pleasant surprise

Look I don't have friends in real life and don't have girlfriend too. I want only try this game for xxx content and have some fun... I meet Chris,Kira,Robin,Lexi,Cece,Linda,Stephanie and Holly.For some time I had feeling that I have friends.Honest,funny,dear,outspoken people.I felt awesome...there is part with Cece, this part is very emotional and I was crying.I had some similarly problems in my life...I love good ending. So for me?I must recommend this game.There are fun parts, sad parts, some choices, xxx scenes, graphics is fine music too and story is great. GO FOR IT!
