Not more than an Alpha, but promising

I've read the description of this game and thought, that there is all that stuff announced, that I am missing in Stardew Valley. And so I have tried this game out. But first of all: This game is really just an Alpha. You find everywhere notes from the programmer, what they will implement there. And I don't know, if I am just to stupid to find a woman for a quest or if she even doesn't exist. Because this is an Alpha I don't risk to score the possibilities you have... There will be changed a lot, I think. But until now, this seems to be promising. For example I don't know, if this is already possible, but there are things implemented, for when you have owned a shop, where you can buy right now. There are buildings for some professions implemented, which I think, you can get into. I am really excited of looking forward to this And now the landscape is lovingly crafted. A fine lush nearly natural cultivated landscape. You can easily feel like being in "The Shire" from LotR. It s just made great!

ULTIMATELY, what made me drop this is that the characters are B L A N D. It felt like romancing someone on Fable. The villagers are not unique, they share lines with everyone else, so no one felt worth romancing. I liked the date mechanic, but that doesn't save it. I did the final quest of like two characters, and it felt very very shallow. The game is really beautiful, but the characters are kinda ugly. The male MC looks like a horror movie villain, and there's nothing you can do about that. The game is kinda dark and I like that, but I don't wanna leave my family for x years to get new trinkets. I thought it would be another farming game, but farming here is very shallow, the focus is on the folkore of things (crops, for example). Owning a store sounded fun, but it actually felt cumbersome. Combat was fun, and I planned on doing only that, since other things didn't entice me, but it got repetitive really fast

Good Game in progress

The Game is really good and is currently in progress, so Devs are working on patches and addons. So when look on the current status of the game, the "real" full release is promising. There is a lot you can do, only problem for me was to find information for the game (wikis are uncompleted or outdated), but there are also a lot of help on the Discord.

One of my favorites

I hate super grindy stuff, so you can imagine that a lot of farming type games drive me nuts. I love this though. You are rewarded for everything you do and in a lot of ways it's more exploration and collecting than farming and there are so many things to do, like cooking with actual minigames attached, and various quests to go through. And the sense of humor is great in my opinion, lots of tongue in cheek jokes that mean things never feel stodgy. And lots of lore to read, which is usually pretty funny. And the art is top tier. This is definitely my go to. If I had some complaints it would be that the NPCs are a little shallow and it would have been nice not to have combat necessary to see everything. But ultimately that hasn't impacted my enjoyment enough not to leave a five star rating.

A good idea, but it needs more work!

First of all, I feel that the quests could use a tracking arrow (at least as an optional gempaly feature) for those that get lose on quests or map design. Secondly, the mechanic of dying of old age, only to let one of your kids take over during the next generation? A GREAT idea! (But I'm not sure if the gameplay mechanic has been implemented yet, but it should be done, in the future, if it hasn't already. Third, one thing I would suggest other than that, would be to add more playable races of people bESIDES humans...just to make the game more interesting! Lastly? I feel that it doesn't feel enough of a proper "sandbox" style video game. I mean, what about customizing and re-aranging buildings in your farm? Or maybe be allowed to name & make a few NPCs on the side, even? Don't get me wrong; this farming simulator has an EXCELLENT basic idea, with PHENOMENAL potential; even having beautiful soundtrack and nice pixelated graphics, too All I'm saying is, this is a video game that still needs work!!
